So just a PSA that those cheap stock wheel "take-offs" might end up costing you a lot more than you thought. And it's all due to the TPMS sensors. I picked up a set of five 18" LC/LC take-offs this week for $500. Sounds like a deal, right? But, and rightfully so, the original owner removed the TPMS sensors.
TPMS Sensor - Toyota (42607-76020)
Be warned that the OE sensors are at least $65...per sensor. That's ~$326 for a set of 5 before tax and shipping and they could be up to $90-$100 per sensor at the dealer before installation.
I asked a local 4x4 Outfitter how much it would cost to install the new sensors, didn't need a mount/balance because they would be the same sensors (weight) and they wanted $40-$50 per tire. So that's another $220-$250 if you are going to pay someone to do the work.

Some folks on here have suggested HUF brand or Autel (~$115 for set of 4 plus 1) which I am going to look into and install myself. Sounds like pairing the transmitters can be tough and potentially cost even more if you need the TPMS tool to pair them.

Just a heads up and good luck!

I recently bought a set of BBS tundra/sequoia trd pro take offs that didnt have TPMS. The cheapest was America's tire at $92 after tax to just swap the sensors on my OEM wheels into the BBS take offs and mount them. Great price!

You got a deal 5@$500. Most sellers will disclose the fact that they are without tpms however. My state doesn’t require tpms so I just go without and do a once over of my tires once in a while to make sure 1 isn’t low. Like we use to do in the 80’s.

Be advised..... if your want to swap OEM TPMS sensors to another set of wheels, you have to replace the valve stems at 20-35 bucks each.
Great point! I don't think some folks realize the the valve stems use a self-tapping screw which makes it a single use part. Plus the '58s OE wheels are getting some Hakka LTs later this year so messing with the factory valve stems didn't make sense.

Thanks, I thought so! I have to admit I had sticker shock when I looked into the price of the toyota OE TPMS sensors. I bought some takeoffs for my wife's Acura and the cost of 4 Acura (also Pacific) TPMS sensors would have been around ~$80 had the seller not included them.

To be fair to the seller, I assumed the wheels would not have sensors. Honestly, I don't think a lot of people realize just because the wheel has a valve stem doesn't mean it has the sensor, and that goes for both buyers and sellers. Buyers take note!

Ah yas, the good ol' days! I might just do that until I figure out which aftermarket TPMS brand I want to go with. Now you got me thinking...
