Has anyone successfully unplugged the 7pin trailer light plug? I’m trying to install a trailer hitch light and I can’t figure out how to disconnect the 7 pin plug.

For anyone interested, it’s incredibly easy if you know where to press. On the top (if you’re on the ground) of the male factory plug there’s a tab you have to press really hard before attempting to pull. If you pull and then press the tab it does nothing. But if you press the tab and then pull, it comes out easily.

45 minutes of feeling like an idiot later, hitch light installed

Link if anyone is interested- Diode Dynamics

How do you like the hitch light? How easy is it for someone to steal it? Is the reverse light brighter than the stock ones on the LC?

I like it. I specifically bought it for the flashing part when you first break - terrible drivers in Florida.

Yes, it's brighter than the tail lights. It helps in reverse in dark areas.

It's moderately easy to steal if someone wants it. I have the harness zip tied up under the bumper so that it would take some effort and a cutting tool. I'm not worried about it, though.
