Has anyone added a 2nd 12V battery to the engine compartment with charger and connected to the relay on the passenger side? This is to run accessories.

There is some detailed discussion of this topic in this forum. It's possible drivers of diesel or other non-hybrid engined LC250s will be more likely to attempt this.

Not trying to irritate anyone........... but many moons ago I too thought a second battery was the way to go. I may be off base as to what you are going to use it for..........

If you are going to use the 2nd battery to run accessories, I assume for camping..... fridge, fan, lights etc..... Realistically how many occasions are you actually going to use it? as an example.... one uses it two weekends a month for 6 months totaling 24 days a year. The rest of the days of the year you're hauling a heavy battery around that has a limited capacity. I understand you may be using it 10 times as much as my example..... none of my business.

You might think about obtaining a power bank (I have the EcoFlow Delta 2 pro) it would serve several purposes....... totally portable for camping, ball games and a backup power source should the power go out at the house. They can be recharged (with the right attachments) by another battery (DC to DC charger) 110 house current, the 110 plug in the LC works well for this and solar power.

I've been watching this company's "complete power system" listing for a while. It appears they're working on a kit to do just what you're looking to do. It's expensive. I'm hoping to actually use it to inform my plans, not necessarily buy theirs (I'm not interested in a 2nd battery).

Maybe it'll help you too.

Following this thread to see if anyone has a 2nd 12v battery installed somewhere...

Right now my plan is to change the existing battery with a automotive Li battery, but would much rather have a 2nd battery installed

I've had those portable battery banks shut down due to excessive heat on the beach, in the summer (multiple occurances). I end up having to run the truck with ac, which defeats the purpose... and once you start running 6-8 light pods for night activities, it drains those banks pretty quick as well
