270 Awning?

Does anyone have a 270 awning installed on a roof rack? If so, do you have any clearance issues with the rear hatch open? What's your setup?

I have a OVS 270 degree awning and had to mount it rearward on my roof rack enough for the hatch's top spoiler to clear upon opening. This pushes the awning away from the vehicle a bit at the rear and does create a gap, but I didn't see any other option. Also you'll never be able to fully open the rear hatch, but you can set the hatch opening to stop right where you need it to just touch the awning. Watch you head!!!

Sorry I don't have any pics and it not currently mounted.

I have also been wondering about this issue. I'm guessing there's not a good solution for a 270 awning on the 250. Another related question, has anyone mounted an awning directly to stock roof rails or is an aftermarket roof rack going to be required?

You might look to see what mounts are available for the previous gen 4Runner. The shape of the OEM rails is pretty similar.

I mounted on a Greenlane rack.
