I purchased a 2024 traildust First Edition on October 11. I currently have 2000 miles on it and I am really enjoying the LC. So far no problems. I have done a little mild off roading and I am really impressed with the capability, although I also have BF Goodrich KO3’S 275 R 18’s on it. I am very impressed with the road feel and ride with the LC with these tires. I also think it looks great as well with this tire size. I have driven in about 5 inches of snow and I did not need to lock the center locker or go into low range. So far my experience with the LC has been a positive one, as I am using it as my daily driver, splitting time with my 1794 LE Tundra.

Here is my list of things I like about the LC :

1) Looks. I think Toyota nailed the look of the LC 250.

2) paint quality. I handwash my vehicles when weather permits and I am very impressed with the paint quality and I think it looks great in trail dust.

3) Exterior build quality = solid and well done. Do I wish it had steel bumpers ? Yes.

4) Off road use = the size is perfect for off roading. It will handle most narrow trails other than walking trails. I did some off roading this fall on 4 wheeler trails and I did have to do some pushing back off over hanging limbs, but with a bronco or a bronco raptor I never would have fit. The bronco raptor is 9 inches wider. Even some of the non raptor broncos would have been a problem.

5) vehicle size = ideal for daily driving and off roading.

6) Cargo area = I’m in the minority, but I have plenty of room in the cargo area for the things I do so the hybrid battery placement is a non issue for me.

7) interior = This is one of the reasons I chose the LC over the GX. I like the interior layout of the LC better with physical buttons. And I think the seats with real leather are incredibly comfortable, more so than the GX. I also feel like the interior has more of a premium feel/special feel than the GX. The build quality and use of materials is very good. Overall in my opinion the interior build quality is rock solid. No rattles or creeks. Feels like a tank inside.

8) The approach, break over, and departure angles are fine with me and have been improved with the KO3’s.

9) underneath = I have been underneath the LC and I am very impressed with what I saw under the LC and I was happy to see high quality skid plates under the first edition.

10) Ground Clearance = I have measured ground clearance under my LC in several area’s and I was pleasantly surprised to find more than advertised. I came up with a minimum of 9.50-9.75 inches and as much as 10.3 inches. 10.3 inches was under the rear differential at the lowest point, this could be because of the KO3’S, NOT SURE !

11) camera system = The camera system is awesome. Best I’ve seen other than what’s in my tundra.

12) interior technology = Everything works great and I’m getting used to it. Some of the safety sense 3.0 I can do without.

13) Radio = works great.

14) steering wheel = love the steering wheel layout and feel.

15) Road handling = Good. Not great.

16) Drivetrain = Engine runs fine and the 8 speed transmission is smooth.

17) Adaptive cruise = Love this feature. So far I find it great in stop and go traffic and I use it most of the time on the interstate. I’m very impressed with the overall functionality of the braking system and how it holds speed that you set.

18) brakes = I love the brakes on this LC. Very Good.

19) Off road tech = I really like it and I think it has the perfect amount of off road tech. Center Diff and rear Locker paired with Toyota’s multi terrain select is very impressive. If you need a front locker you are doing some hard core off roading.

20) Visibility = great visibility !

21) Suspension = I think Toyota did a great job with the suspension. The ride on pavement is smooth and it handles off road situations great. Soaks up road bumps real good and is very comfortable on and off road.

Dislikes =

1) Fuel economy = So far I am averaging 15-16 mpg. I live in a state with hills and grade changes and it probably does not help that half my driving is Hiway driving at 70-75 MPH. And the KO3’S 275 R 18’S probably don’t help. And I am not heavy on the throttle.

2) fuel tank size = to small !!!!!!!!!!!!! 250-275 mile range is unacceptable. Needs a 25 gallon tank minuim

3) Engine = The engine runs great, I just wish it had more HP and Torque , I think it should have the V-6 TT.

4) Body panels = Doors sound solid when you open and close them, but if you knock on them with your fist they sound a little hollow/tintey.

5) Safety sense 3.0 = to intrusive for me. I think they over did it. I hate the warning notification “ keep your eyes on the road” .

6) Seat Belt = I do not like that certain features do not work without the seat belt being on.

7) Road Handling = Could be a bit sharper, but it is very obvious that the LC suspension is geared towards OFF Road use and winter driving.

8) Adaptive suspension = wish it had adaptive suspension like the GX and LX.

Overall I am very happy with the LC 250 and at first I liked the LC 200 better, and I really like the LC 200, but I have grown to like the LC 250 better, it is more versatile, better looking, and better off road. In my opinion the only thing the LC 200 has over the LC 250 is the engine, possibly.

To me the LC 250 FEELS like a special vehicle and anybody who knows the history of Landcruisers knows it is a “ REAL LANDCRUISER” . The people who say it is not a real Landcruiser are 2 people =

1) people who do not know the history of Landcruisers.

2) people who are bitter because they can not afford the LC 250. If they want a LC 300 THEY CAN PURCHASE the LX 600 or the LX 700 H Overtrail, but they don’t because they could never afford one.
