Any fellow 1958 owners thought about wrapping the fog light cover on the front bumper so it matches the rest of the body? I mean it should be much cheaper than painting it with all the pre work painting requires.

Trying to see if anyone has done it and found the perfect color matching wrap, black is easy but meteor shower and white is gonna be a bit harder to match?

I called a vehicle wrap company and they confirmed that the plastic can not be wrapped. They said the plastic is too rough and the material will not stick.

awww crap, no wonder. I thought that it was odd there is not much discussion about wrapping the black plastic cover which seems so easily done, and there is only 3 colors needed.

Definitely ask around for a second opinion. I was hoping it would work as well.

I was thinking if I use some automotive spray paint can and spray some clear coat on it (covering the surround area of course), and then will the wrap stick?

I have a friend with a detail shop and wrap experience, will bring my car to him for front window tint, will ask him then.

Since I have an Ice Cap, I may try white plasti-dip. If things go south, should be an easy fix.

let us know how it goes, and if the colors match (I know white is white but with cars there can be different shades of white lol).

oh wow, I always thought the covers were part of the front bumper (not detachable), in this case it will be much easier.
