I had a set of 17x8.5 -10 SCS F5 wheels with 265/70 Vredestein Pizza AT tires sitting around (meant for a 4runner build that never happened) so threw them on our new 1958 today. A little more poke than ideal but they look great and weigh about 10 lbs less each than the stock wheels & tires. The ride is noticeably better now with more sidewall and less unsprung weight.
They fit with plenty of clearance. There's still 5/8" between the caliper and the barrel at the closest point. At full steering lock there's still about 1" of clearance both directions even with the super low offset wheels. Obviously it will depend on the specific wheels & tires but I would think most 17s should fit no problem with similar sized tires on stock suspension.
The F5s really enhance the retro vibes of the 1958 unlike the terrible looking stock wheels it came with. It just needs some ~1.5" fender flares to be perfect.
Hopefully this is helpful to anyone else looking to fit 17s
