I just verified with my insurance broker that my Allstate comprehensive insurance covers windshield damage. I will only pay the deductible. Hope there is no major drawback to choosing that option in my protection options. I also plan to install a windshield protection film.

Thank you for responding, toyotadude. I will certainly PRAY:LOL:! In the meantime I will also look into the protection films you mentioned and see if I can find any good windshield warranty.
