I am also looking to have some kind of steel reinforcement fabricated that will attach to the recovery points; guess I should have just gone with one of the aftermarketās and waited. Wasnāt keen on not even having a debri shield though
I mean if I put the FE *
I mean if I put the FE front plate in only (part 60242), might I be able to install the trans skid of, say c4 fab in the future and then further down the line upgrade the front skid
Hereās a thought, assuming you removed the back row seats:
Plywood board, 6 4x4s. 4 of the 4x4s go over the bolted legs, two go at the front of the bed all the way to the floor. Drill through the 4x4s that are over the battery bolts, then screw down with some real long bolts. Voila
Iāll stick with FE for now just because I needed it today. Might upgrade iteratively in the future; anyone know if aftermarket trans plates fit with the front fe plate generally?
The goose gear platforms are bolted down where the metal ācageā is bolted. That is to say, the bottom of the cageās legs where they meet the floor. Nothing on the goose gear is bolted to the top of the cage/battery
If you think Toyotaās is bad, Subarus nearly violently jerks you to the side on exits and turn lanes. Got me in an accident once.
Anyway, I love LTA have never had a problem anticipating its quirks. I find it very predictable when I need to nanny the nanny
Well, itās because itās plastic and plastic is malleable. I donāt like it but youād be hard pressed to find a new car that didnāt heavily utilize plastic trim
Keep in mind, if you upgrade tires and you got the tire and wheel protection when buying, you have to stick with 265/70R18 (assuming you got 18ā wheels). Otherwise replacement tires wont
Be covered
It turned out not to be as involved as the document posted on another thread made it seem. It initially looked like there were 5 sets of trim to remove in very awkward places, especially on a trail. Turned out to just be one piece of trim and 5 bolts easy to reach. For the front plate at least...
That said, all the dealership and mfg paperwork said this vehicle had skid plates. Itās definitely not steel, but also not paper machee like Subarus debri shield.
Iām at this very moment out in the middle of nowhere with a trashed front skid plate and scratching my head on how to even approach this lacking rampsā¦
