No the GH max is different than the LC and Tacoma.
For the non turbo, Iām not sure as I havenāt looked into it but the hybrid max is 100% rear motors and a horizontally mounted engine with a 6 spd transmission
Edit: ok I see my mistake, Iāve been calling the GH Max an iForce when itās not
Good point, I hadnāt looked that closely. Only knew the GHās engine is mounted horizontally vs longitudinally, and the rear wheels are only powered by an electric motor. Hopefully the added capacity helps and it may have less hp but it has more tq. Also GH has a 6 spd auto vs the LCās 8 spd. So...
So we wonāt know for sure on LC efficiency as the hybrid drivetrain itself is different even though it has the same engine. But I would think thereās a good chance itās the same.
As for cheaper, I imagine highly unlikely. The landcruiser is already gonna steal some sales from the GH. Not many...
Eh video may be flawed. I donāt know much about the technicals of off roading, but seems as if thereās a few more things he can do to his rig to make it a proper test. (Maybe more bumpstop)Either way Iām not sure there is that much more benefit to the rear sway bar being disconnected. That said...
Heās got some good info, but heās very GX/Lexus biased too. He doesnāt actually say why he thinks the e-Kdss is better or why it actually is. It does the same thing as the sdm in the front. There is no benefit off road at all, nor on road from what I can tell. Perhaps the e-kdss is more robust...
For the US, I think you can compare it to the Grand Highlander Hybrid Max. Prices will probably be very close option for option. It starts at 54k.
