    Adding/removing roof rails

Anyone add GX rails? I’m thinking of getting the low profile black ones for the 58, I’d only use them occasionally for road trips for a rooftop box and maintain the clean wagon esthetic and shouldn’t cause any noise or MPG hit.

Need help sourcing a roof rack

And the first edition rack that you’re likely referring to I’ve seen lots of complaints about being extremely noisy too. I’d recommend getting roof rails off either a LC or a GX and putting on your own aerodynamic cross bars whenever you actually use them to haul something: Yakima or Thule aero...

🗞️ Breaking News 2025 Land Cruiser Announced

I can’t believe they released the 2025’s 4 months after the 2024’s started being delivered on the east coast, it is a bit of a bummer. I figured the ‘25’s would be out end of 2024 or early 2025. I knew I could’ve saved a few grand off MSRP and got a better APR if I waited 6-7 months, but didn’t...

🗞️ Breaking News 2025 Land Cruiser Announced

Regardless of what they call it, it is a pretty awesome package. I just wish they would’ve put a little better sound system in it, but I must admit it is good for Toyota standards.

🗞️ Breaking News 2025 Land Cruiser Announced

there’s a “bumper protector” option now too, any idea what this is? I see the cargo lights are “package” options and not standard or accessories, I think they are a factory add and not something the dealer can add or DIY easily based on this. I’m surprised to see the 1958 stick around, I stand...

    NHTSA report a problem

It is completely normal. It is the materials used in the breaks - rotors and pads - as well as moisture causing surface corrosion. High performance breaks almost aways squeal after sitting overnight, especially if there’s moisture.

    First offroad, el. 13,124’ [Summit County, CO] - Compare/Contrast 5th Gen 4Runner

It definitely changes over time. I’m just under 4,000 miles and it has slowly used more and more hybrid and running for longer periods on battery, I had a few miles of light load driving on mostly flat at 45 MPH entirely on battery this weekend, was really surprised, and the MPG keeps improving...

    First offroad, el. 13,124’ [Summit County, CO] - Compare/Contrast 5th Gen 4Runner

Awesome write up, thank you for sharing! Trail Dust looks awesome, I’ve yet to see one in person. As to the engine breaking, I do believe that pressing lightly on the breaks to maintain downhill speed should engage the hybrid regenerative breaking in the transmission rather than using the wheel...

Font Window Sun Shade for 2024 Land Cruisers

I returned mine. All fit great except the side cargo windows were not cut right. They just fell right out and they were the most important ones for me for car camping. I think they fixed the hatch piece because mine was cut for the rear washer area. @Werlyb23 you can send them that one back to...

Took it off-roading..:it’s in the shop

Sorry to hear this happened to you. But I’m also relieved to hear it was the debris shield and not the skid plate. The debris shield is essentially tin and plastic and can be bent by hand. The OEM skid plates (engine and transmission) are supposed to hold the weight of the vehicle and there’s a...

    "TOYOTA" Center Hubs

They are OEM 2023 Tundra takeoffs. I got them on eBay. I could not find the part number for the current gen Tundra, Sequoia, and Tacoma black lugs so got the takeoffs. There are lots of options on eBay just make sure they are from the current gen trucks.

    updated center caps stock wheels

Should have added, I got them on eBay, there are a lot of takeoff options on there, just make sure you get ones from a current generation Tundra, Sequoia, or Tacoma.

    updated center caps stock wheels

They are OEM but I don’t know the part #, they are Tundra takeoffs. The Tundra, Sequia, and 4th gen Tacoma use the same lug nuts as the Land Cruiser.

    "TOYOTA" Center Hubs

These are the new Road + Trail AT. Have about 2,700 miles on them so far and have zero complaints. They have great NVH, little to no impact on MPG, and handle well in wet and dry. Haven’t done any serious off-road driving with them. Will see how they do this winter.

LC250 oil smells like gas during oil change

As to the start stop, that’s a concern I have too, that’s called wash down, the cylinder walls have the oil washed off by gas injected in and not burned. It causes premature ware and contamination of the oil.

LC250 oil smells like gas during oil change

Totally normal. Most 3rd gen Tacomas first oil change smelled heavily of gasoline. I changed my LC at 1200 miles too and it smelled strongly of gasoline and was full of metal flakes and quite dark. Most have reported the same from what I have seen, with only a few reporting the oil to be clean...

    updated center caps stock wheels

Here’s what they look like if anyone is interested. I like the copper with black LC. Getting black lugs on this week and then I think they’ll look really good. Might pick up the copper trim pieces for the interior at some point too: gear shifter surround and steering wheel.

    Black Lug Nuts

Thank you. I am not sure if they do or not. But I have seen pictures of first editions with both black and chrome lug nuts. I have asked several dealers parts departments and have not gotten an answer either. It should be the same lug nuts that come on the Tundra TRD Pro, Sequia TRD Pro, and 4th...
