They did. It is considered “at fault” since I was the only driver which means there will be an extra premium for years to cover the $9k. I’m not sure how much it will be since the case is not over yet
This is my first off-road rig so I’m a total newb. I’m sure you’re right but I feel like the better skid would have helped? In any case I’m getting that and will go to 17” wheels with a bigger tire to hopefully help
I do. I have $6000 worth of damage from off-roading with the mid level (LC) "skid plates." They don't protect anything. The impact driving on the dunes destroyed my radiator and AC compressor and I haven't had my car for 1 month. Spend the cash to order the Toyota steel ones from the FI trim. I...
Just got the damage report. Radiator toast, AC toast, bent mangled bottom and some frame disconnect. $7,000 is the current estimate. Given that this was sand (albeit hardpacked at the bottom of the dunes), I would advise others to tread lightly with their LCs. I am trying insurance but this is...
We all aired down to take on the dunes. He's a good instructor so had us try it (unsuccessfully) at higher psi until we found something that worked. I think we were all around 18 to begin and then I got down to 8-9 to get up the dune.
It’s funny, that’s the video that made me want to learn how to drive in the dunes to get out there. Yes may be same result without catching all that air
As the owner and a noob, it could be. I have the LC mid level with the premium pack and some other stock add ons but I’m not really positive. It has some protection down there (the covers that bent) but I can’t say it’s def a skid plate)
Hi guys. I’ve had my LC for 5 weeks and have gone on medium and easy dirt trails mostly since I’m an OR noob. On Saturday I went to a day class at the Pismo dunes. Such a fun day—see pics. However, near the end I got an engine light on, leaking coolant and several other errors. I had to drop it...
I am interested in getting a roof rack as well. I have the LC trim so just have the OEM rails now. Im a noob to off-roading and racks and these all look very similar to me. Besides weight limits, how else do you evaluate these?
