I don’t use google maps audio or Amazon music but CarPlay connects and works great. Even the wireless charger for an iPhone works. My wife, who rarely drives the LC, drove it and said CarPlay connected immediately. I have 4 vehicles 2020 or newer and the LC works best for CarPlay.?? Of course...
FYI I have the Kuat Piston Pro 2-bike version the pin is long enough the lock attaches and everything works great. It folds out and the hatch is accessible and goes up/down no problem.
Have you tried tow/haul mode? On steep downhills at highway speeds and light load I’ve used tow/haul and it adapts about as good as my hybrid F150, which will do everything heavily loaded, towing, empty etc. Conversely you can turn off tow/haul mode while towing if conditions allow it and get...
Not sure if you’ve tried it, but flip to sport mode and see how you like it. Others have commented and it seems to be the LC drives pretty sweet in sport. I’m not sure how much mpg you lose doesn’t seem like much but need to do a fair test.
Yes you are (reading too much into this). They use the same robots, materials, software, procedures and also Japanese workers in Japan! Somewhere in the you tube land they interview a Toyota engineer on the subject. It’s an interesting discussion these days, an F150 from Dearborn or Kansas City...
This is a new VW 508/509 oil and is not recommended by Mobil 1 for the LC engine. There is a lot of discussion among VW owners about this oil and whether M1 5w-30 provides more protection. With a new turbo 4 VW you are kinda stuck using it or VW oil or LiquiMoly or MOTUL specific 508/509...
On Mobil 1’s website input 2024 Land Cruiser, truck and suv is one of the recommended oils. It probably has more zinc etc for bearing lubrication at high temp/load. They also list a 0w-20 hybrid and the stand-by extended performance 0w-20. I’ve never seen the hybrid and not sure how it differs...
As for the 3M products, talk to your favorite body shop / painter for advice on where to get 3M products and they will either sell you some (cash works best) or point you to the local professional painters supply. Bring cash there too, it seems to work well.
That’s crazy. My quote was $6000 which is typical. That’s from a ceramic pro elite dealer. I’ve had xpel, 3M, and suntek on vehicles. The cost is mostly labor, and the LC is not a difficult vehicle with large flat sections and not too challenging curves. I’d ask members of the Porsche club or...
High praise indeed coming from a Macan GTS. I’ve driven very little in sport I need to check it out. BTW I put the K03’s on and it’s tighter, firmer, more precise a completely different feel.
Good point… often when you go down the road of use/abuse off-road or on a race track days of thinking about warranty coverage are history. I’m not sure how serious the OP is and what’s his next step. Entering the production class of the Baja 1000 maybe, in a stock LC?
If you keep doing things like this and your budget can handle it it won’t be long and you’ll be giving advice on an off-road forum instead of asking! Fix it and learn, and I’d get it fixed at a good independent Toyota repair shop or do it yourself. You might as well get a relationship started...
Yes you are correct. The aerodynamic force varies as the square of vehicle speed (relative speed of air and LC) and is the dominant force. For example MPG at 20 mph would be very close to 16/4=4 times greater than what you get at 40 mph.
Nice. Is it true your driving was similar for all the data points so that the reference MPG used by the car to calculate miles remaining is not changing much? I assume you would not get a linear relationship if this wasn’t the case and also the variance away from linear you could track back to...
If your on-road 95% is high speed (70-85 mph) interstate the Cayenne gets the edge. If it’s more around town 40 to 55 mph then it’s the LC. In all aspects except high speed highway the LC gets the edge. You have the option of high profile tires with a full size spare. Routine service is $100 not...
OK thanks. Yes I could connect right at the battery maybe have cord going in at rear passenger window.
One thing very interesting about the pigtail install for ease I did that on my hybrid F150 and the wind currents under the hood at high speed blew it around and chafed the insulation! Weird...
Very interesting and thanks for the TSB’s. My shop foreman at my Toyota dealer has always tested my 12V in 2001 4R and often says something like “battery is somewhat low put a charger on overnight”. Pretty much with all of my cars which are rotated they are on battery maintainers on and off...
I’ve always been under the impression that Toyota factory oil is Mobil 1. Back in the day I remember the bottles with Exxon/Mobil on them. But I can’t prove it.
Yes that sounds OK. And also hot oil really shows any suspended “dirt” under bright sunlight. It almost looks like shiny metal. I sent my oil to black stone for test on a Porsche rebuild at 500, no metal detected and minimal dirt or gas. But it looked dirty. It would be interesting to hear from...
Gas OK… still not great, but full of metal shavings at 1000 miles on a new factory engine? Is that documented with oil test results anywhere you know of?
No problem we do exactly as you’re saying all the time. By accessible I mean “safely accessible”. Most guys I know have a holster mounted with muzzle pointed down. As for cold, usually magazine loaded no cartridge in chamber. But if it’s a 1911 or 2011 with grip and thumb safeties fully loaded...
