I agree, TSS 3.0 definitely improved some of the features (like lane keep/tracing). So, it's not all bad. My 2018 Accord could drive virtually hands free on the highway and kept me centered nearly perfectly without any jerkiness. The 2021 Venza wasn't quite at the same level. But, both cars...
My Honda/Acura stuff is way better than the Toyota. ACC works great, transmission is butter smooth, and CarPlay integration is simpler and better. My '21 Venza was also much better, but it did not have TSS 3.0.
The ability of the cruise control to maintain a constant, steady speed is a function of the control system and programming of the computer. With the computing power available today, the LC should do a better job both hitting the target speed and maintaining the target speed even with gentle...
I use Brake Hold nearly every time I drive. It's not necessary when I drive on the highway, but sometimes you run into traffic and it's perfect for stop and go.
Yet another issue with the software is that when I cycle through the modes, I bypass both Amazon and Apple to get to Radio, but the head unit goes to anything except the radio.
More frustration today with CarPlay. It connects, but won't let me actually do anything because it thinks a phone call is in progress. Happened multiple times today :( I tried it both wired and wireless and have experienced this issue both ways.
Installed my new puddle lamps on the doors and it looks great! The install could not have been easier. Pop out the old lamp assembly, disconnect the wire, plug in the new lamp assembly, pop in the new lamps. Link to Land Cruiser Lamp.
I've had issues with CarPlay connecting as well. But, the truly bizarre glitch is when I use voice control for SIRI and the audio continues to play as I shout over it to be heard by the car. I've also noticed that I have to speak much louder than normal to be heard by SIRI, even if no...
I prefer the LC in almost every way except the power train. I drove the GX550 and the V6 TT is fantastic. I'm happy to get better mileage with my LC (averaging 21.5ish combined), but it's no where near as smooth and responsive as the V6. Two other bonuses on the GX550 are the acoustic glass on...
Took the LC on a road trip and changed the oil today after getting back (1200 miles). I was surprised to find that the "transmission and transfer case protection" is a plastic shield. Seriously? I'll be upgrading the skid plates sooner rather than later. The oil flows out sideways from the...
I'm curious to know where you came up with the idea to take the ratio of the load index to determine the proper pressure to run the tire. Can you point me to the source? I also look forward to hearing what BFG says about the inflation pressure vs. Toyota's recommended inflation pressure. The...
Added some vinyl to the TOYOTA logo on the back to make it pop. The vinyl is from StickerFab and is "Heritage Blue". The color is not an exact match, but looks quite good on the piano black trim. We'll see how it holds up over time. StickerFab sends two sets of letters to account for...
I hadn't thought to try and switch between modes. Thank you for the idea! I kept the Venza in ECO 100% of the time because it definitely increased the MPG and the performance gain wasn't really important for that car.
I've had my LC for more than two weeks. I felt like CR pretty much hit the review dead on, with the exception that I much prefer the LC over the GX550, Bronco, and LR variants. I definitely have noticed that the powertrain is not smooth on start up and when applying throttle from low speeds...
Nothing wrong with wax! I've used some higher end waxes before I switched to ceramic coating several years ago. The wax helped keep the car clean, shiny, and protected. The obvious disadvantage is the need to reapply to maintain the benefits. Ceramic coating provides longer lasting...
I spent quite a bit of time doing a paint correction before ceramic coating everything other than the front clip. The front clip plust the piano black mirrors and door handles have XPel Ultimate Plus PPF on them now. Tinted everything with XPel Prime XR Plus to reduce IR. Some close ups....
