Westcott seems to be putting the 703s on all the Land Cruisers they are doing. I sent them a note on IG and this is what I got back.
I'm going to test fit the 703s I have here before mounting tires to see what I think of the clearance, but I'm thinking it will probably be fine.
Anyone know the part number for the LC's TPMS?
I know they can be switched over from the stock wheels, but buying a second set would save a lot of hassle.
If the wheels have a bore larger than 95.1 you will want to use hubcentric rings which insert into the opening on the wheel. This will reduce the bore to the correct size which ensures it remains perfectly centered.
Without this you are relying on the lugs to center the wheels which isnโt ideal.
So yes, it sounds like they were technically being honest and there was no 'mark up' (aka ADM). It's debatable whether $10K worth of dealer add ons is a good value, but you did receive something for the $10K that a normal LC from the factory would not have.
Most people won't pay ADM, but some...
Westcott's is a pre-load collar lift, which requires disassembly of front struts/springs. Not something you can really do without special tools. Plus, an alignment is 100% needed post-lift.
We donโt really know the full context for what was said and what was charged. Dealer contracts usually have language like โthis is the entire agreement and nothing else is promisedโ to avoid conflicts between verbal discussions and what is written in the agreement.
The reality is paying $10K...
I thought for sure I was going to see a slight difference in the color since they were made over a year apart, but putting them side-by-side in varying lighting I really couldn't tell them apart.
The logo was the only difference I saw.
I'm doing mine through 4WP. They are listed as a dealer on Westcott's site, have decent reviews, and this seems to be the kind of thing they do everyday.
Was quoted 1hr per corner + 1hr for alignment which seemed pretty fair.
I ordered the Westcott kit the day the pre-orders opened up, and it looks like they will start shipping in early July. ๐
Timing may turn out to be perfect as my FE was just released from QC hold and should be at the dealer in 2-3 weeks.
Not sure what your paperwork says, but if the $10K was for some sort of add on package (window tint, nitrogen filled tires, etc...) that's technically not a 'mark up' even though it's effectively the same thing.
Either way, it seems like $10K doesn't matter much to you so if you are happy with...
I suppose it depends on the dealer.
I asked mine to not drill holes, and they didn't give me any pushback. I'm going to check in once it gets closer to delivery, just to make sure they didn't forget.
Lol
To be fair, neither wheel is wrong, and the packaging was also very different between the two (likely changed when the wheel design was updated). It's just weird that somehow these 2 mismatched pairs were sent out together.
Method is a pretty well regarded brand so I wouldn't let this stop...
They are 1 piece snap in caps on the 703s.
I bought a set of the bronze topo caps which I think look way better.
One thing to note about the 703s is Method changed the mold sometime in the last year. The wheels they initially sent me were a mixed set; 2 with 2023 production dates and 2 from...
