I was taught, and go with the LT as they can take airing down better. Their sidewalls are much sturdier and can better take airing down and running on 15-20 psi.
I ran Rotiiva AT’s in LT285/70-17 on my 4Runner OR here in AK and absolutely loved them. Regularly aired down to 15psi and ran up trails like Ruby Lake and others near Sutton, AK (steep, very technical w/rocks and roots and very slick mud) and they did great. And in the snow, which we have...
At the same time you need to unfortunately have laws in place that mandate certain practices be followed. In AK, the dealership MUST display the total asking price (that MUST include ANY additional dealer markup beyond MSRP) prominently on the vehicle in a clear to see place. And for pre owned...
The State can sue the dealership if it violates state law in some way. In AK it would violate fair trade law and we’re seeing Swickard dealerships in Anchorage find that out. They supposedly did this same exact thing.
Just to refresh this thread and say that this looks mighty good 👍. I’m wondering how a yellow-orange-red stripe coming down the sail panels, tapering off on the top of the quarter panel, and terminating at the leading edge of the rear quarter window would look?
No, thanks but they’re K02’s. Being a bit of risk taker with them in 275/70, but being difficult up here in just finding wider wheels in proper offset. So, until then…go with the stock wheels I guess.
Still overall quite comfortable. And I’m still learning the vehicle admittedly. I realized earlier today for example, that in stop/go traffic I could easily rest my left arm on the lower armrest. But really only at a stop as my hand would be at 7 o’clock. Really my quibbles are just nitpicking...
Seconded. Drove it good 4 hrs straight and found driver’s door armrest too low and the window ledge just right but only in a particular, and not necessarily particularly comfortable, seating position. And I did find the footrest is maybe a 1/2” too close for me. My left foot’s not quite even...
I have found that everything I need within an easy reach as a driver, is so. But then also, I’m 5’9”160lbs, have the seat at its highest setting and still have ~5” headroom sitting straight up. From the driver’s seat, I can’t reach the front windshield until just below the sunshade. (And the...
Rock soli and steady on our little road trip to Hope, AK and back. No issues at all and quite an enjoyable vehicle to drive. On several occasions I found myself unknowingly doing well over the posted. Vehicle was very steady even in the “highish” winds we get along Turagain Arm. I'd say going to...

I loved mine on my 5th gen 4R. It does cost a bit more.
I’d bet the legroom is very similar based on having the same wheelbase. But with the LC being ~6” taller…yeah, it has loads more headroom and rear storage than the 5th gen 4Runner at least. It’s like driving a box truck with the view forward and all the headroom. Of course, it doesn’t drive like...
