Don’t feel bad, the Toyota tech that installed mine was initially flummoxed by that piece. And he’s been solidly installing these, running boards/sliders & other accessories on Toyotas for 5-6 years at the dealership now.
Hello, sorry to hear about the dealer shenanigans but hopefully you’ll have a nice road trip. I wanted to offer that I really love the Toyota rock rails. They’re kinda tucked in compared to typical rails, so I don’t rub my pant legs on them at all.
Had the rock sliders and f/r skid plates installed yesterday, just in time for today’s run up the Eska Falls trail near Sutton, AK. Plenty of YouTube videos on the trail but suffice to say the 1958 LC did just fine. Have run my 4Runner OR up the same trail and while I did miss its ~1.5” of add’l...
Ordered mine on 6/10 and was told today that they’re packing it up to ship in the next day or so. Should take 7-10 days to arrive. And for the rack I used the local Prinsu rep, G.T.F. where shipping ran me ~$500.
And yeah, I’ll eventually find some eyebolts either locally or on Amazon. I wanted...
Ordered one of the roof racks for my 1958 and hoping that same dealer can get these shipped at a greatly reduced rate…I mean, ouch! Price of living here.
Ones that are accessories for a 2024 Land Cruiser 250 series (or GX550) should be good. Nope on 150 series, or GX470/460. Those are completely different beasts. (And you won’t want to cover the shifter on a 1958 lest you must as it’s really nice to the touch.)
Depends upon how much further it has to to reach the dealership and the modes of transport. Rail and/or another boat ride mean weeks. For example, units arriving in Anchorage today, typically arrived in Portland (Japanese built models) ~6wks ago and left Japan ~two months ago. (Unless, like this...
Yeah, that might be a “holy grail” of sorts to develop and manufacture. Would have to articulate, and how much cargo space you willing to lose?…there’s a lot of useable space back there, in any event. Just love this thing.
I love the utility box, or the idea of it until I can put my hands on it and gear in it. But chopping off so much of the bumper and the way the brush guard frames the grill gives me too much FJ vibe. I dunno,..overall I applaud the effort and welcome them, and to be sure many others, to the...
Used the button to the lower left of the steering wheel that turns off the rear park assist braking. And just as previously posted, it still hollers at you but no unexpected panic stopping.
Premium or regular? I ran premium the first two tanks, miles 2-605ish, got 21.8-22.3. Regular gas for miles 600-1100 (current) with 21.2 on stock tires, (miles ~900-cur.) 19.8 on K02’s. All within Anchorage’s stop&go fun.
I am having a devil of a time in disabling the reverse/rear assist braking when I attach my trailer hitch mounted bike rack. I’ve gone through the menus under PDA and turned SA, DA and OAA all off, and turned Parking Assist off. And still, my passenger and I get jolted by a sudden panic stop as...
