When did you notice the engine turning off and for how long ?
As I said before during a 20min drive with Tundra iForce Max the engine never turned off when the car was moving despite my efforts....
Grand Highlander is an amazing on-road vehicle. As far as I know the only one offering two different hybrid powertrains.
2.5 Hybrid for efficiency and drivers like myself
2.4T Hybrid.....need for speed...
It's funny how on-road performance drivers wants the Landcruiser because they like it...
The 2024 Landcruiser has one single powertrain In US. 4 cylinder 2.4T hybrid. Do you try to tell us this vehicle is disappointing ? What's the point here ? Why do you compare the LC with the X7 when you have a GX 460 ?
Yeee ! Congratulations ! Please let us know the real life mpg. Did you notice the engine turning off when you drive (decleeration, going downhill, coasting, crawling in the parking lot.....)?
Auto-start stop is a about regular ICE cars. The hybrid ones are supposed to turn off the engine when you stop and also when you drive. Anyhow on some cars there is a SPORT mode which keeps the engine running for the sportsmen of the road.
Great answer, I fully agree. It depends how hard you try to fill the tank.... after the first click. Not recommended but you can fill one more gallon if you are determined to do this
.
This video is not a big deal but..... look at min 2.07 to see how they measure the 0-60 performance of the Land Cruiser.
Sound is crazy, turn it off.
I heard this statement 87 times during the last +30 years. But for me it is exactly the contrary. I pay more in order to get a better, and better means also cheaper to run. Thus fuel efficiency is a big issue.
MarcMarc is probably one of my neighbors because all he's saying looks like my ideas...
Thank you, this is the first real life highway consumption !
The fuel tank capacity is 17.9 miles. At 22.9mpg it means 410 miles of range.
It looks like the computer is very conservative.
Sorry my bad. Please accept my apologies. 6.9 sec was misleading. You can see it at min 10.40. I am not sure what settings he used but he got 7.91 sec.
There is a video showing 6.9 sec. Not official rating but probably good enough to understand how fast/slow is this boxy SUV you like. What else would you like to know about 0-60mph performance ?
Obviously the Prius mpg is much different, But yes, I am concerned about the mpg of this boxy SUV. 1958 is my choice but if this car requires premium fuel or it can not get 25 mpg on the highway....
This one is the best. Not only 3RD ROW SEAT but also "Cargo Volume to Seat 3"

There is a video posted on this forum. That guy got 6.9sec. You can see it and measure it. If this car is slow I am Pete Sampras.
I am much more concerned about the efficiency performance. I still don't know if the engine may turn off when coasting, going downhill, decelerating and what is the...
Sorry, I have to quote again. Immediately no !
This is not "performance" for a body-on-frame, solid axle SUV. Call the thread "0-60 and Nurburgring figures" and you won't see me commenting
Immediatley no ! I have to quote my daughter.....
I think it is not at all reasonable to have such a concern. This is a LAND CRUISER and the rest of the world gets 201 hp and people are happy with that. Here in US you 326 hp with a huge torque and need to know how slow this SUV is. Really ??
If I'll purchase the new Landcruiser this is the first goal. To test it at Nurburgring. I hope to be the fastest Diesel 7 seater ever. Sound system turned off will gain some 0.87 sec.
I fully agree but who mentioned the X5 ? It was the X3  . And some people just want the SUV they like to do a regular daily on-road job. And some of them are disappointed with the 7sec of the Landcruiser or with the sound system. What can we do ? Live is tough.
This is a fact, 10 sec is a different story. 201 hp Diesel vs 326 hp Hybrid.
And BTW 10sec is not bad at all for that 2.8L 4-cyl Diesel engine and such a car.
Now the same dealer has two 2024 Landcruiser Hybrid iForce Max on sale
They added a 1958:
"Premium Options & Packages
Cloth 3rd Row Seat
Adaptive Cruise Control......"

No one can officially bring the Diesel version in US.
