As far as I know the rear wheels are powered by an electric motor ON DEMAND just for the GH hybrid 2.5 non-turbo. The GH hybrid MAX 2.4 turbo has a mechanical full time all wheel drive. It is not easy to understand Toyota technologies. GH is probably the only car with two different hybrid...

I agree. Regarding the hybrid systems I noticed two differences. GH Hybrid MAX has 362 HP combined vs 326 on LC. Hybrid battery capacity 288V 5AH (Toyota website) meaning 1.44 kWh vs 1.87 kWh on the LC 250.

I agree. You can just drive a little bit and you can accelarate gently up to a certain speed on EV mode. But the engine should turn off when decelerating, coasting, downhill. Our Ford Fusion Hydrid does it at any speed. This is how you get the max efficiency, by driving on EV mode as much as...

I should confess that more I read about these modern systems more I believe my Landcruiser 120 is brilliant. I bought the base model back in 2007 because it was the only one with rear differential lock :rolleyes: . Because it has no electronics at all. No ESP no Traction Control. 6 speed manual...
