When you do the initial setup, there’s a master data services consent. If you say no to that, nothing gets shared at all! It’s all explained when you set up the vehicle.
The T&C on the site is if you buy a vehicle but never set up the connected services. It has a default level of shared data...
The default is opt out, you have to manually select that you want to share data.
Once you set up your LC you’ll be presented with menu options for you to select which services you wish to opt in for. If you don’t want to share data, don’t select it.
if you blindly go through setup and say yes...
You give consent even you select the options in the app. If you choose not to share data, it won’t record or save it.
It’s also not recording anything inside the vehicle, only exterior cameras and vehicle sensors.
I love my tundra and haven’t taken it on any tighter off road trails for this reason. It’s great to get out to campsites but I wouldn’t take it off roading properly like I used to do in my 4Runner and Tacoma. Hoping I can get back to it in the Land Cruiser once my son is old enough
Its a separate harness, you'd have to add the additional harnesses to the vehicle, the camera control unit, and the switch. Some of these parts are restricted for order to only body shops, and the cost of labor to tear apart your vehicle and add all of this would be pretty expensive. Would...
Wiring connector for Round vs square headlights is identical - should be no problem to swap them. There's only one part number for the headlight connector.
Looks like you cannot put the rigid fog lights from the higher trims into the 1958 though, its a separate harness that does not exist...
1000000% Tundra wins in the driver storage category. in my TRD Pro there's a giant cubby below the head unit that has a wireless charger. I mostly ignore that and keep a 5lb tub of peanuts in there for snacking. The cupholders are gigantic and hold my 32oz hydroflask no problem. The center...
Yes, the ATF and coolant run through a water jacket in that small housing. The surface area for heat exchange isn't that big though. These are found on several other vehicles as well and work fine, but if you're towing often, I'd recommend getting an separate transmission cooler for longevity.
That sounds about right. I think the keyfobs themselves are only $200ish, but if I remember correctly, it takes a couple hours to program them correctly, and involves opening a TAS case to get TMNA involved to prevent fraud.
My LC has disappeared entirely from Toyota's inventory site and my dealer's website... the only reasonable explanation is that my LC was sacrificed so yours could live, pls enjoy them for me
Yeah if someone told me that they had a 1958 today at 10k under MSRP, i'd probably still wait for the LC with premium. I've spent 90k+ on vehicles before, I'm absolutely going to make sure whatever i'm buying has every single feature I want.
I'm going with the LC + Premium package because I'm doing a lot less offroading now that I have a newborn. This is going to be a comfortable dad-mobile for me that I can still take camping with my friends on our monthly trip, and I can still tow my project cars. I've been spoiled by some of the...
It is different per vehicle and head unit type.
Drive pulse is toyota's driver scoring metric for safe driving behaviors. the data from Drive Pulse doesn't get shared anywhere unless you have insurance connect on, which shares it with insurance partners so you get safe driving discounts. The...
Sounds like your dealer doesn't know how to use TIS properly. If you search "spare" in TIS for the 24 LC, its one of the first knowledge base articles to show up.
It also has a direct link to the digital manual to page 608.
If he's getting it to flip it, maybe? The demand has gone way down on them so he likely won't make any money. It would probably be picking it up and then going straight to Carvana to sell it.
If he's interested in keeping it to drive - run away fast.
The rear seats don't have AC vents except...
Oh dear god that Bronco rollout was horrible.
I was a day one reservation and had orders at 3 different dealerships. I ended up buying one from a 4th dealer that had someone back out of their purchase that matched my order exactly. I drove it for a year (worst vehicle i've ever owned), sold...
Shipping is included! I've been sending them samples for almost 10 years for 7-8 vehicles. They always tell me my ideal OCI for each vehicle and in the case of my dedicated racecar Miata, they were able to tell me that my head gasket may have been leaking. Sure enough, I pulled apart the head...
I always send my oil samples to blackstone labs for analysis. After a few changes, they'll be able to tell you what your ideal oil change interval is based on your driving habits. A 5k OCI isn't for everyone, its really only for specific heavy use cases.
On my 2022 Tundra after 4 oil changes...
