The manuals don't teach. The information is present, but there's no top down on 'why'. Not teaching in a manual is fine if the UI is good.
But I still don't know how the parking brake and hold buttons function. I can and will figure it out, but I should not have to at the level required...
I've never used Sirius until now. I thought there would be an app that guided to interesting shows. I don't see how they compete with simple podcasts unless the listener is a big Howard Stern fan.
Starlink roam is $600 plus $50/month when used. It's use when moving with the $50 plan probably...
This explains why Toyota discourages lockers except in very slippery conditions. And why a good full time four wheel drive system is superior to part time.
Another data point: A Prius battery is $2000 to replace by companies specializing in that service. Dealer replacement is probably about twice that amount. The LC is about 30% bigger, so $5K would be my guess at the cost.
I believe we have the same ancient NiMh battery chemistry as the Prius.
Yes, its a bad design. I have both Apple and Amazon Music, but I only intend to use those sources through carplay.
Can the multimedia voice assistant directly access Sirius? I believe voice is a paid service so most of us won't have it available long term.
Isn't the car Sirius satellite and the app Sirius cellular?
I don't think there's a cleaner way. There are major integration downsides that come along with car makers using Carplay and AA.
A secure drawer with a base 36" x 36" with attachment points for the existing tie downs would work well. It could be longer if restricting the tilt back of the second row seats was OK.
The trouble with going full width includes the battery ventilation intake on the passenger side. 36 x 36...
Also, you may be able to buy a genuine running board taken off an LC. Watch the sales board. Not sure if there is a WTB.
My running board will be coming off in spring when I get sliders with steps. I would rather that someone local takes it for a few dollars rather than it going to the landfill.
Prado won't necessarily fit a North America 250. I bought a Prado cargo cover from a New York seller and it was about a 1/2" too long. Don't know if it was poor manufacturing or a spec difference between models.
So I won't buy any more items for Prado items without reviews from north american...
To be considered credible they need "cons", of course. The vehicle does lean more than a conventional SUV. It drives like a well balanced truck. The Bronco may lean more or less depending on the trim package. The LC is certainly a nicer road traveler than the Bronco. I would consider buying a...
Good find. But you can see the old knowledge in the thread. "One of the easiest to steal". That's not true anymore, unless Toyota screwed up the new security system.
I may get IGLA or a kill switch. My concern is interstate motels overnight.
Of course the GX550 owner could have done something...
Toyota newest FOBs that we have should not be cloneable. Starting last year Toyota implemented a better security system on higher end vehicles. The CANBUS attack through accessing wiring should also be more difficult.
I'm interested in an evidence/stories that our system has been hacked...
Interesting. So no RADAR in non-premium? Or maybe just front RADAR in non-premium?
I've seen some premium owners talk about replacing the rear bumper. I'm not sure that they realize that there are two sensor types in the bumper.
If I get to the point where Premium is too mod limiting I will...
Man, a downvote from the only guy in Idaho without a handgun..
Personally I would not carry a handgun in a vehicle outside of a gun safe. Plus I'm sure there's a Toyota sticker somewhere forbidding handguns in the glovebox.
Because it's a hybrid/fuel economy oriented vehicle and wheel mass is the most costly in terms of MPG. Toyota could have paid a little more for lighter wheels.
Now I'm interested in what the Dunlop tires for these wheels weight.
I'm talking to a guy on Etsy that builds with that system. I'm getting a quote for two drawers in back. I like the idea of being able to do future attachments to the top slots in that system, for use such as tie downs or even a refrigerator slider.
I'm realizing that drawers make a pretty good...
I think the "plate" system is very expensive for the functionality. I can strap down a couple of large containers in the back without paying them anything.
They key to adding meaningful interior storage is seat removal. I agree with being able to remove only the 60 side would be desirable.
An...
I do wonder how many Toyota customers using carplay or AA are unnecessarily paying for that subscription and others?
From what I have read online the app will work without any subscriptions, but I'm not certain. Microsoft has trained people well to not expect elegant interfaces and services.
My mapping will be apple maps and onxmaps, both from Carplay. I will have Starlink roam that can be mounted to the inside of the sunroof. I don't plan to use stalink while moving. I may or may not mount starlink on the exterior roof in the future. My roof rack plans are uncertain.
My assumption...
Alternate approach for the majority:
Take it to a touchless car wash that hand dries, if possible. Then drive home apply the appropriate Turtle wax product of your choice to the clean finish. Have the vehicle professionally waxed once or twice a year.
I believe ceramic coating are first and...
I don't like white with Meteor Shower.
MS with Java interior was my ideal combo. I got Underground with Java.
I think only a black roof would go with Underground, but probably not worth the cost.
IMO a contrasting roof looks best with clean more traditional colors: white, blue, TD and...
Personally I'm replacing the tires. But OP described his use case.
The dunlops are likely reinforced or they would not be marketed as AT tires. Again, Toyota is not stupid. They didn't have dunlop put an AT label on unreinforced street tunes.
I suggest keeping the stock tires for awhile, considering your use. The stock tires are AT and the people choosing those tires for the LC are not idiots.
I feel that the 250 styling brings it back to a more truck-like design, which I prefer. The FJ Cruiser was odd in proportion, the 300 too much like all big SUVs.
Lots of FJ Cruiser styling cues in the 250, but without the "made for the ladies" vibe. I am apparently not in touch with my feminine...
