I'm sure that there are a few 1958 owners who will swap headlights. The round lights were one of the major objection to the FJ. I like the round, have the rectangular, and like both. But if the rectangular are better then I prefer those.
There only relevant report seems to on the TRD Pro which broke down at a few hundred miles. I don't know why the non-hybrid failures would be relevant.
A single failure happens. I would be more concerned if the oldest 2024 hybrid Tacos were having issues.
But those concerned should note that...
You haven't disagreed with me. To do that you would need to make a financial case that an extended warranty is better than self funding repairs. There is a case to be made for poor people who are buying used vehicles to lock in a cost per month. Not being able to get to work at McDonalds may...
In time some knowledgeable person will figure out the safety system of this inverter. Anyone know if the the Tacoma hybrid has this inverter as an option? I assume it will be in the next 4Runner.
I'm just now discovering the little task lights in the LC. There a little light pointed the...
The wheel is a half inch narrower too. The 1958 is the vehicle people buy to modify, so tires/wheels is one area they cut costs. Plenty of 1958 ties and wheels on ebay.
Fail. It immediately turns off when it sees the house system( at no load.) It likely doesn't like the ground. I do have a ground to neutral bonding adapter, but I'm not trying it wiithout a better understanding of the issue.
For the record the connection was to a Reliance Controls subpanel...
Of course. You are also free to be one of those guys in his sixties handing me coffee at the McDonalds drive through. As long as your poor financial decisions don't affect my taxes I don't care.
if "peace of mind" is a dopamine response to a sales pitch due to financial ignorance, then sure. But the dealers finance manager selling the insurance doesn't buy extended warranties. For him that sort of purchase would not bring peace of mind. He would just be choosing to be poorer.
It's...
I'm turning my 20s into snow tires, and buying 17" or 18" for AT tires. Probably excessive but what I feel like doing.
We know that the stock tires are an odd choice for the LC, especially in snow country. But I do think many LC owners should probably investigate tamer AT tires that the...
I guess I've become somewhat negative on the AT4W after watching Outdoor Auto's mostly positive review. I don't need a high mileage tire made for heavy trucks. I need an AT tire with good highway behavior and softer rubber. So I'm thinking more AT3W or KO3.
Mud is my biggest problem, but I wont...
Can anyone with AT4 comment on road noise from the tires? I wonder of the AT3 have less road noise. I'',m leaning towards non-LT on whatever tires I choose. May do KO2 because, in my experience on there vehicles, there isn't much road noise.
I'm not sure that E rated tires run at 80 psi make...
I find the engine starting and stopping awkward. But its still a very nice driving vehicle for a small truck. Far better than Wrangler and Bronco. Maybe 75% as good as a $60K unibody "SUV". It's an obvious choice for truck people who want good road manners. But its simply as not as smooth as...
We buy Toyota presumably because of quality and longevity.
Extended warranties always have a significant negative expected value. It's like buying equities that you know will, on average, have a negative return.
Were you think that the inverter didn't really work? I found the video a bit clueless.
A major benefit of the inverter is that it either eliminates house batteries completely or allows much smaller systems. It eliminates the need for solar. The reason solar is used is because a conventional...
Finally found the technically correct adapter to connect the truck to my houses 30 amp sub panel. This adapter type is more typically an RV connection. This adapter is correct for shore power on many travel trailers and truck campers. I have L5-30 extension cords.
Conntek Plug Adapter NEMA...
Absolutely. It's designed to be removed. It's on top of the clear coat.
The original design would not have included the badge. It would have been added after marketing wanted to brand the power train as something special. The compromise between marketing and designers is to make it removable.
You will have a hard time pulling it off in one piece. It is designed to be removed without issue. It will still look like crap made all black.
In contrast the "Land Cruiser" label on the back looks great.
