Found this LED kit that includes a position switch to turn on the light only when the hood is open, as well as an override switch to force off if/when necessary. Under hood LED light Does anybody have any experience with them? I am a little gun shy about buying from this likely one man shop...

The more interesting question is why you've never needed to open the hood in the dark 🤔... Probably have AAA in speed dial.... Anyway, if you have pertinent info please share, otherwise please don't pollute the thread with irrelevant comments. Thanks.

All my other cars have had lights on the underside of the hood that turn on when the hood is open. I'm really missing this on the cruiser. Does anybody have any good aftermarket light recommendations for this application?

I am one of those that couldn't wait and bought the chinesium with fake carbon fiber cover one. I'm reasonably satisfied with its look and function so will wait till it wears out to order the OEM cover. However, I SO WANT and lust over the little plastic screw covers that came with the OEM...

Lots of communities manage to find interested volunteers to manage that, hard to see why this one would be the exception.

Agree with not censoring content. My only complaint is with redundancy. I think moderators could do a better job and have been remiss on these boards where it comes to pruning and unifying redundant threads. It detracts from the utility of the site and ease of finding relevant information...

Cosmetic problem with this is that the height of the plate wrap is larger than the height of the bumper so one would have to choose to wrap it around the bumper in the bottom or to split the difference top and bottom. Either case I think it wouldn't look good. The rigid plate ain't much better...

I like it! I have this same design puddle light for all 4 doors, will have to add this one for the back. Where did you get it and where does it go? I did not see an obvious spot for it in the back hatch...
