Thanks @Dr Bob . But I was looking for a way to buy just one additional crossbar for the FE roof rack. Likely not available from Toyota so was hoping to learn who the rack manufacturer is.
Has the First Edition roof rack been identified as being made by any particular manufacturer? I'd like to try to contact the manufacturer to possibly obtain an additional crossbar.
Is it possible to have both the lighted running boards and the lighted door sills installed? Or do they each need to be plugged into the same port on the wiring harness?
For camping, beach or similar situations, I’d like to know if all interior lighting can be off for extended time with the doors and/or tailgate open. On my FE there is a dome light on the ceiling that eventually (1/2 hour or so) goes off. But there are also 2 small lights on the inside of the...
As far as I can tell from watching the visual display, the hybrid battery charges in 4 different scenarios.
1. When the vehicle is coasting with no foot pressure on the gas pedal.
2. When braking.
3. When stopped, with the engine off and accessory power on and the computer determines that...
I noticed a thread on the GX550 forum about rust forming on the lower rivet of the fuel filler door hinge. I checked my Land Cruiser FE and see rust in the same place. It is very tiny, but still an obvious issue……...
@LChopeful does that seat gap filler pouch move (either forward/backward or down toward the floor) every time the engine is turned off and the seat moves to the exit position? Or when the seat moves to your saved position when starting up the LC? Do you have to constantly readjust the filler's...
I think the battery attachment point under the hood is wired to the 12V battery in the cargo area wall. The under hood point is used for jump starting with ordinary battery cables running to another vehicle.
The hybrid battery is likely much higher voltage and not accessible to users like us...
Yes @EOD Guy and @Lineman , inside the cargo floor storage area would be a good place for a new port. But I’m not sure I’m competent enough to be able to get under the bin and cargo floor to run a wire with inline fuse all the way to the battery.
If I can verify that the 7 pin trailer port is...
Thanks @Markarian421 . I was about to check the owner’s manual but you beat me to it.
Looks like my choices for the Viair are (1) hard wire a new port directly to the battery, or (2) return the 85P and get an 88P with clamps directly attached to the battery posts.
I’m not really happy with...
@EOD Guy here's the 12V battery in the cargo area wall. I was hoping to avoid dealing with removing the cargo wall door and the red plastic guard (which is attached tightly to the positive battery terminal and tough to pry off) each time reinflating is needed, so I purchased a Viair model that...
Wouldn’t the same issue be present if the inflator is connected with an adapter to the trailer 7 pin port? Does the wiring from that port support 15 amps? And does that wiring go through the fuse box?
Thanks, @Lineman . Well, there already is a 12V cigarette-style accessory port in the cargo area. I think it's on the side opposite the battery though. Would that already be wired directly to the battery?
I will check on the Viair trailer adapter, but does it plug into the LC 7 pin port...
My LC FE was delivered with a rectangular black padded vinyl mat that is as wide as the cargo area and about 2 feet tall. It has loops and clamps that affix to the cargo area walls, creating a loosely boxed-in cargo area when the rear door is open.
Is there a purpose for this item?
I have purchased a 12V tire inflator that plugs into a (cigarette) accessory port. It is a Viair EVC 85P. It states that the current draw is 15A. The instructions state that it should be used with the engine running (so as to not excessively discharge the vehicle's 12V battery). I purchased...
How exactly is the rear hitch cover removed? I see the two plastic pop up rivets fully pushed in. How are they popped out or loosened to remove the cover?
I posted the following in another thread. The forum moderator suggested that I post it here for others to see and perhaps respond to. I first thought this was engine or stability system software related, but ………….
The more I drive the LC, the more I think the hesitation/bumpiness that I am...
An update on my comments above.
The more I drive the LC, the more I think the hesitation/bumpiness that I am feeling is tire related. It feels like a jiggle of the driver's seat. IIRC, this is the feeling you get when the rear wheels are out of alignment. As I'm sure a brand new vehicle's...
@lcgreen3 based on your first post I contacted the McGee dealership and have arranged to purchase the Meteor Shower LC FE that you test drove. I noticed a bit of what seemed like a quickly repeating engine hesitation or rumbling each time the gas pedal was let up to slow down or coast (at the...
I've found that signing up on the Toyota owner's site and entering the VIN does not lead to any specific information for a vehicle that has not been delivered yet by a dealer.
I understood that (1) the FE has a front skid plate and the LC trim and 1958 trim do not, and (2) no trim has any other skid plates. I also understood that additional skid plates (center, rear?) may be added with aftermarket parts. Not sure if Toyota offers the front skid plate as a parts...
@tbounds02 I look at it this way:
The differences between LC with PP ($66,550) and FE ($74,950), along with the sticker cost or my own guess after viewing the Toyota website Build pages, are:
Roof rack - $1,400
Rock rails - $900
Front skid plate - $300?
Round lights - $0
Mud flaps - $250...
