Guess it's color-specific for me: I was on the fence about removal.. saw the pic of the white one and didn't like it without the badge, but now seeing it on the same Meteor Gray that I have, I think I prefer the look when removed. In fact, I think it's better this way than it would be if on but...
I ordered the OEM Land Cruiser crossbars from Toyota, and the instruction manual said they were for both the GX and the Land Cruiser. That GX rack looks like it attaches in the exact same location as the crossbars.
Anyone wiring for parking mode coverage? Looking to go 2-channel front/rear and would like to have always-on monitoring with the camera's parking mode if possible with something like this:
Yeah same, appears to be a special OEM version. I was trying to find the listed weight to compare when tire shopping, but no luck. Did the Japanese site happen to list it?
Wow that looks good! Even has the hitch diaper in the back (unfortunately). Surfaces are so smooth: if traditionally 3D printed, then they did a lot of post-print treatment on that. So cool
EDIT: I see they sent the main body parts off for professional SLA resin printing.. still an impressive...
Anyone know how to order the oem 18" wheels, or at least a part number? I plan on keeping my factory 20's but love the look of the stock 18's over aftermarket options for a winter tire set.
About 4 hours. I had given up shopping for one for a while and randomly checked the local inventory yesterday. Saw first that markups were evaporating since the last time I looked, and then that there was one matching everything I wanted - Land Cruiser edition w/ premium package, Meteor Shower...
Strawman argument. I never said it sucks. Why would I be shopping for one then?
My asserted belief, however, was that the asking prices were too high due to temporary supply conditions and would be coming down for the patient. So far, that's 100% correct.
If you like paying dealers more... then just pay them what they want, be happy, and move on. No need to argue with people who won't. Strange hill to die on
BaT was $5K over 78. eBay is currently less than that at $81k.
The fact that real-world auctions barely yield $5K when dealers think it's worth 10-20K shows me that it's already missing demand expectations out of the gate
One of the largest Toyota brokers in the Northeast.. price applies to lease or purchase. Offers some nationwide shipping. Give him a text:
https://forum.leasehackr.com/t/may-toyota-all-states-dealers-nationwide-deals-below-invoice-24-taco-4k-off-tundra-upto-8k-off-best-pricing-usa/106422/8071
The argument was not actual purchase prices, the argument was which customer base was seen by dealers as the one most susceptible to jacked-up prices. If Toyota is attempting 20K markups, then there's your answer.
I actually think there’s a market division in North America: 4Runners are targeted to a pure off-roader market, LC’s and the like were sold as off-road capable family movers/camping dad cars. I think the stigma you talk about applies more to Toyota than to Lexus today: Who’s getting charged more...
Because they are still rolling out. It would be an absolute disaster for them if that wasn’t the case when cars weren’t even on the lot. These are the very definition of temporary conditions and no way indicative of long-term interest
I think the combo of
No 3rd row - eliminates it as a large family hauler
Powertrain - a turnoff to Landcruiser purists to have a 4cyl hybrid
GX550 cannibalistic competition: Luxury plus simple powertrain and a KDSS option to fix some handling issues
Interest rates/economy/price point
All will...
Actually, if MPGs don't matter - then seriously look at the GX550 instead. A bit more refined, a bit more tech, a less complex powertrain... all at roughly the same price. I would have bought one already if it didn't make me sick that the trip computer read a maximum of 11 mpg during my test drive.
Can I play too?!:
If you can afford the car, you don't need a warranty, you can afford the repairs.
If you can afford the car, you don't need locking diffs and disconnecting stabilizer bars. You can afford someone to tow you when you're stuck.
If you can afford the car, you can afford to pay...
Just drove a GX550 and it felt... lumbering. The V6 was surprisingly slow to respond and felt mushy. Still going to try a Land Cruiser but if the driving feel really is the same between the two as the video states, then might sit this one out
