Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of the CarPlay. But I still like my Garmin. I can plan my routes on Basecamp- upload to Garmin and navigate the route I plan.
I used a Ram Mount ball mount system. I purchased the 1” ball mount with adhesive and placed it on the flat side behind the media screen. There are flat areas there that seemed to work well . I then used some of the mounts to bring my Garmin nav to the right side of the screen...
IMO, diesel is superior in every way to gas. I understand that many will disagree. Even with all the Air Quality Regulations related to diesel and the push to eliminate it from the US market, it is a better fuel.
Without seeing the owner’s guide for that model, the button to the right of the headlight washer looks like a diesel selective regeneration button. ?
Rapid heat for diesel would make sense. Diesels take some time to come up to operating temperature. So, your interior heat from the coolant would take a long time to provide for comfortable heating. Rapid heat provides for an electric element to warm the cabin quickly. My Superduty automatically...
I just sold a BMW with the Weathertech mats. The carpet looked as good as the day we bought it. The Weathertech mats are a little rigid and I liked them for in town driving. I have Husky liners in my F250. They are a softer rubber feel. They are more comfortable on my heels on long highway...
Go through your insurance company. They can use their time to go after the company. Use Toyota body shop and insist on genuine Toyota parts. Sadly, reporting to police would probably get you nowhere.
Yes, that sticker indicates 1100 pounds max. That is the max, including fuel, hitch weight, etc. the vehicle is rated for. There may be another sticker below that sticker that may reduce the capacity further. The “plate” may be just a generic tag Toyota puts on all the LCs. 1100 pounds is not...
The Yellow sticker adjacent to the plate you posted is the safe payload of the vehicle. The payload differs depending on the add-ons to the vehicle. The more add-ons, the less the payload.
Ours has running boards. I think that if you had a 1958 without boards, getting in and out of the vehicle would difficult. I think you got to have something, boards or rock rails.
My driver and passenger windows are marked UV on the corner brand on the glass. I’m assuming that they block UV by 99% by what seems to be here:
https://media.toyota.co.uk/new-toyota-glass-technology-cuts-uv-by-99/
Now the rear side windows are not marked UV.
I did not check the front windshield.
So I ran across these a while ago.

Maybe with some modifications, these could be a start of something that might help?
I was quoted 250$ for driver/passenger window tint for XPEL Prime. The other windows on the LC are already factory tinted.
Regarding the ceramic coating, someone else can provide the going rate. Ceramic coating is not PPF. It’s a liquid applied to the car paint.
My best advice would be to contact the folks at etrailer. They have been very helpful in the past dealing with these issues. If they recommended something that would work and it doesn’t, I’m sure they would take it back. Maybe some general FJ Cruiser towing mirror's might work? Maybe something...
Someone correct me if I’m wrong. The 12V battery in the back is not used to start the vehicle. My understanding is that the traction battery starts the engine. The 12V battery is used to power the 12V accessories. A BT does not charge the traction battery. I guess it couldn’t hurt , but you will...
We have the 20” rims and we like them. If you view some of the review videos on YouTube, you’ll see that some of the test models have the 20” rims. They seem to be just as capable on those test tracks as the 18”. Now I know that some will disagree with me, but I would buy a LC with either wheel...
