    Quality Control Delays!!

Not sure what exactly is “order what you want” model, but Toyota dealers at least in California did not allow me to at least get a build closer to what I want. They are still on a first come first serve, clean out my lot ASAP strategy, the worst part is that many of the Toyota sales approach...

    Quality Control Delays!!

I had the impression there is a period of time that the car storage expense is covered by Toyota, not dealer. So maybe for these hot models dealers are not in a rush to sell. The worst case scenario if it sits in the lot over a period they just slowly dropping the markup and some loser will buy...

    Quality Control Delays!!

Given that roof rack is even more rare than LC itself, we are probably going to see First Edition retains its value way better than other trim. (BTW I don't actually like FE roof rack that much, it doesn't seem to be as solid as what some of the YouTube video suggested)

    Quality Control Delays!!

I just get a text message from the dealer. So they told me that Toyota is waiting for the roof rack to arrive so they can finish PIO work. (I guess that means only FE is affected???) They again give me two weeks ETA now. Hopefully it is true this time

    Car Camping Solution

I hate this type of design. That is a huge waste in space under the platform, and turn all the storage compartment unaccessible. That design is lazy at its best, let alone the price they ask.

    Quality Control Delays!!

Did you get your car yet? I was told my sales since early July that the car has landed at the port, but up to today there is still no car delivered. Everything is hold up at the port in California. If Toyota builds 50 LC a day, that must be already 3000~4000 cars stuck at the port right now...

This is actually nice. I think they should make the bamboo board foldable so it is easier for storage when not used. The board seems to be just a rectangle, I would image a nice design should allow the use of the underlying storage. Also I am thinking of cheaper material like foam or some sort...

2024 Land Cruiser Roof Rack by Prinsu

What is the issue of the roof rack that you don't like? It looks like a nice fitting.

2024 Land Cruiser Roof Rack by Prinsu

Front runner seems to be solid but I am wondering if they will support a LED bar mount, which will be essential for many people

    Shelving in 2024 LC

this looks cool, although the drawer will be at least a few inches higher to leave space for hybrid battery. I would imagine if they can pre-cut all the pieces a DIY should be pretty easy with minimal tools needed

    Shelving in 2024 LC

These empty plastic container come with the car can only hold 120 lbs. I think for a solid sleeping platform they probably need to be removed to install the shelf on a more stable foundation, but then we have an uneven cargo platform that drawer will be very shallow. BTW I like that Toyota put...

    Shelving in 2024 LC

Does anybody have a good suggestion/examples to build a shelving system and/or sleeping area in the new LC? I do not want to simply build a platform and have all the space under wasted. I am trying to figure out a nice solution I can usethe bottom as storage or some kind of vault. Given we have...

2024+ Land Cruiser Heritage Blue Photo Thread

The shop I talked to told me if it is PFF alone it would last 12 years, but adding the ceramic coating would make the PFF last life time. The question I want to know is how scratch resistant PFF really offers?

    Car Camping Solution

The work performed on this car is sick. But I can see it is one of its kind and hard to reproduce. I suspect we have to wait for another 4~5 years for this TNGA Toyota platform to drive on the road before we can start to see cost-down massively produced bumpers and drawers that are tightly...

    Car Camping Solution

The place where the two feets located is a case cover that will only hold 60 Kgs I believe, also we don't have a solid support in the trunk anywhere next to the hybrid battery. That is going to be tricky. I also think that we can't place anything permanently in the trunk since the battery might...

Still waiting for my LC to arrive. I have noticed that the second row and trunk are not one flat platform, so certain padding arrangement will be needed. Does anybody have a good suggestion or product we can buy off-the-shelf? Right now I am thinking to get some 2~3 inches harder memory foam to...

    Longevity of 2024+ LC

Thanks for the insights. I participated the design part of process at other makers, but never fully understand the manufacturing/assembly side of story.

    Longevity of 2024+ LC

I did three hours research yesterday and this aligns with my impression. The part many people can't accept it is that you have 1% of failure rate on the most valuable part of the vehicle. I do not think 1% is something one can down-played for this issue. After all this is Toyota we are talking...

    Longevity of 2024+ LC

I guess the only thing I tried to talk sense to myself is that they already screw up Tundra, Sequoia, LX600, and possible GX550. If this V4 also shows similar signs of pre-mature engine failures, that would further add Land Cruiser, 2025+ 4Runner, Tacoma, and the rumored baby version of Land...

    Longevity of 2024+ LC

The hybrid powertrain on GX550 would have multiple potential source of major maintenance effort. Both hybrid battery and suspension will need to be replaced at some point, which will be quite expensive, and the engine bay will likely be just equally ugly and complex. For that reason my priority...

    Longevity of 2024+ LC

Whether 2024+ LC is still a flagship is quite debatable. Sequoia/LX are also closely related to the Tundra recall, which some could argue that they are effectively the new flagship. Toyota hasn't exactly explained what happened to these recalls, but speculation suspected that it might be an...

    Longevity of 2024+ LC

What do you guys think of the build quality of the new Land Cruiser? Every time I saw the image of their engine bay comparing to GX550 that just freak me out a little bit. and the recent engine recall on the Tundra really worried me that if this Land Cruiser is still the land cruiser that I have...

Land Cruiser - On-road driving experience

I am curious how well it would do on a washboard? That is the most annoying experience I had and I am hoping LC wouldn't be too bumpy on that.
