Right now I am leaning towards either replace the crossbar to a flat and wider alternatives, or completely replace the roof rack. I kinda like the way it looks, but the lack of accessories support invalidate the original purpose of the roof rack.
I have been looking for accessories and mounts for my First Edition roof rack but it seems nobody is making one custom enough to fit it. There are a few issues I have right now with the generic accessory
1. The crossbar is not flat. It has a special profile.
2. The crossbar location can’t...
I end up getting this from Ebay. It is designed both for J250 and GX550 and it fits very well. The only thing you don't have is that Toyota badge but I don't really care
No matter what the vendor/installer said, a film is a film, there are hard physical barriers it can not protect your windshield from. Just accept the risk and stay far away from the car before you….
Well that might explains what I felt about my LC. Though for now I am getting back to my old habit to switch gear to neutral when I coast to a stop, though it takes a bit predictive driving to do it right. But at least that shock load I felt seems to stop from happening for now.
I don't expect any Toyota's transmission to have issue before 100K or even 150K, though not sure what happened to Tacoma.
But my expectation for Toyota is way beyond that. Personally I consider any failure before 200K is pre-mature, assuming proper care. Given the Land Cruiser reputation I...
This is probably not relevant but I wonder how many people change their transmission fluid early? Most of the time people only focus on the engine oil since it is more important but a new transmission is likely also have similar machine debris condition during break-ins
I do not have a lot of experience in this but my LC transmissions occasionally shifted gears rough during very low speed, usually happens when I slowly coasting to the traffic stop. I now try to put my break slightly harder instead of coasting and it seems to stop the rough shift. Not quite sure...
Unless people run into my car in high speed while I camp in it otherwise I do not particularly worried about it. During my trip there are usually enough weight on the top of them and at home I don’t really keep these box in the car. Various random objects in the first row and second row is...
This is the first time EVER ARB provides a bumper that pre-integrated the parking sensor.
BTW I did not see the placement for the factory fog light. Do they really have to be that petty to kill anything from competition in favor of their own products? The factory Rigid fog light is a very high...
I bought a few sturdier foldable boxes (They are just 4-inch thick when folded) to pad the trunk. In the day time I can put all my sleeping bag and pad in these boxes. It is way more flexible than the fixed flatbed platform, and way cheaper as well. For a multi-use vehicle (instead of dedicated...
It is not because the piece is plastic. All other plastic part is attached to the car well still. Only that specific piece, and I suspect the broken part is the material they use to attach it, likely some kind of rubber. It feels like a bad installation or glue in the first place.
I am aware the issue of that piece but my engine side cover is way worse than that. I can already see the detachment happened and the only thing holding it in place is a small piece of rubber. I bet at this rate of deterioration that piece will fall off in another few weeks.
It is supposed to...
I found yesterday that not even two months of minor usage of my LC the cover at the edge of the engine bay is already half detached from its original attachment. Does this also happened to you? I am not sure whether it is supposed to be ok or can I ask dealer to replace a new piece for me
Nobody said this is to be used while driving. I have been playing YouTube Music Video in my car forever and I never feel the temptation to watch the screen while I was driving. These days I tend to listen to the YouTube videos that Republicans and Democrats bitching each other just to keep...
I still have hard time to justify a $500+ ladder. Is it built with gold?
This vendor (or this design) has been selling on Amazon and eBay by different seller at different price. You can maybe take some advantage from finding the best one to trade with your Benjamin
That "dummy load resistor" is my lithium power station. Right now I only connect it to 12V plug but the power station will only charge @ 100W to avoid melting the fuse. In order to charge at higher wattage we need to either directly wire to the 12V battery with thicker wire and fuse, or wire it...
A spare lithium that can charge at 200-500w.
Still not that much energy reclaimed but that is not a point. I just want to know how the hybrid powertrain works on LC.
Does anybody know what happened to the traction battery and re-gen break after the battery gets full?
I am recently in a trip that is seeing 20-25 miles amount of down-hill slopes, I’ve noticed the battery pretty quickly got charged to full. I was wondering if LC will do the same thing as...
I plan to place the battery in between my second row floor so I have limited options as the space dimension is awkward. I end up choosing ecoflow. Otherwise if you plan to put the battery in the trunk I believe Bluetti is one of the batter option for capacity. You should be able to fit a 1-2KWH...
DJI’s power station is less than impressive. Any other reputed companies (I.e. Ecoflow, Bluetti… etc) have cheaper and better offer. I would stay away from them at least for power station. Not their best suit.
Does anybody know how to connect Apple Music subscription on the Land Cruiser with 2FA enabled? The 2FA on Amazon music doesn’t have any issue to get connected but I can’t seem to connect my Apple Music account on the vehicle. Everytime I tried I always stuck at authentication.
I remember when buying the first iPad to my parents they told me exactly the same things. A year later I found them always carry it into the restroom with them.
Never under-estimate the magic of multimedia to the very young and very old. 😂
Has anyone tried running these Android box on your Land Cruiser central console? I got one of this box from Carlinkit, I think with the ATT mobile connection on the vehicle this could be a super nice upgrade in the cabin. Would love to learn if anybody have already tried it.
