From @jeffd in another thread. Maybe he will chime in here as well:
"Beautiful rig. And trust me, you want it built at the Hino plant. Iāve delivery QA/QCāed enough of these now (16-17) to see a difference in build quality and Hino units are the ones whose panels, especially the fuel filler...
Someone who inspects vehicles coming from both plants mentioned on a little while ago that they noticed Land Cruisers coming from Hamura appeared to have more uniform panel gaps than those coming from Tahara. i thought that was an interested data point. Kind of makes sense if Hino/Hamura is...
Are you putting the land cruiser into "camp" mode by locking the driver door from inside or using the mechanical key to lock the driver door from the outside? This keeps the hybrid system running and engine cycling on and off through the night.
I understand polarization. Some manufacturers add in the ability to rotate the polarization of the HUD to work better with polarized sunglasses. Similar to how when you tilt your head side to side the polarization of the sunglasses gets out of sync with the light reflecting off of the glass and...
That makes sense. Surprised we still havenāt had a direct comparison side by side of the lights. You may try to adjust the aim upwards a bit so the cutoff line is a bit higher. The headlights are auto leveling but you should be able to raise angle of the cutoff line of the lights.
Once a vehicle has been āsoldā, some dealers remove them from the site to prevent getting lots of calls about vehicles that are no longer available.
Owners manual doesnāt say anything about a sunglasses holder anywhere in the vehicle. Iāve always preferred the visor clips to the drop down holders. Weāve had sunglasses get stuck in some of the ceiling compartments and it was a pain to move them around so the compartment would open. Didnāt...
My hearing cuts out around 10,000 hz so I wouldnāt be able to hear it but my wife or daughters would tell me Iām sure. Need to find a technician at the dealership less than 30 years old with good hearing so they can confirm to the dealership what youāre hearing.
Hendrick Lexus KC has a used Luxury+ GX550 they are asking $115k for. Tells you what they think of their clientele who are waiting patiently to purchase one from them. They won't even let customers test drive one. I laughed on the phone when he tried to justify the price and hung up.
Iām curious if weāll be able to order these badges that come on some of the other market FE trims. This one is in S Africa I believe.
Might balance out the back if you put one on the opposite side of the black Land Cruiser badge.
Good to know. I still think having a 5th one is a good idea. If one has to be popped out to rotate the spare, odds are they will get damaged at some point. Most people wonāt rotate the spare so they are probably fine with 4.
Love the look compared to the stock center caps. For people ordering, might want to add a 5th so if you do the recommended 5 tire rotation in the manual you don't have to pop them out as you rotate.
Strange, wish I had mine so I could try to hear it in person. Although, with my tinnitus, it probably would just sound normal or like nothing at all. One of the perks of not being able to hear high pitched whines or my left turn signal left blinkingš¤£.
I used to wonder why old people would...
Other Toyota hybrid drivers say you get used to it eventually. Tesla used to allow you to change the sound but the FMVSS mandates the audible sound to warn blind people of oncoming vehicles. The problem is that ICE vehicles are now quieter and the blind community even objects to the mandate...
Are you certain its not the pedestrian warning "spaceship" sounding noise you are hearing from inside the cabin? It is audible inside the cabin when driving.
If you lock the vehicle from the outside with the physical key inside the key fob or lock the vehicle from the inside using the drivers door lock, the hybrid system should stay on indefinitely. It's in the manual if you want detailed instructions. You need to have the hybrid system on before you...
Would be interesting to tell ChatGPT what you wanted and see what it gives you to compare. It's pretty amazing what it can do. Needs someone who knows what they are looking at to confirm it is done correctly but its very useful for things like this.
It's the law now that hybrid/electric vehicles have to make a pedestrian warning sound. Let's hope someone provides some aftermarket solutions that sound better...
Sounds like there will probably be some needed headlight adjustments from the factory setup. We should be able to point the headlights slightly up a bit which should help. Might get a few more drivers flashing their lights but better than hitting a pedestrian or animal crossing the road not...
