The general forum would still exit. Regional forums are helpful for regional issues, like best dealers, best shops, get togethers, suggested trails, buy/sell, etc.
There was a thread about that before -- yes regional forums would be nice. You can message the admins, or we can try to summon them all by tagging them maybe?
@Dragoon @El Chorizo @Nuke @supersix -- is it easy to set up regional forums?
One possibility:
Top level is the Toyota regions...
Can I remember them all?
Before I had my own vehicles I learned to drive in 1970's Ford F150 4x4's, an old Impala, and an old Galaxy 500. My dad taught me to drive off-road before he'd trust me on road, I guess because we were going slower?
1973 Monte Carlo hand me down from my older brother...
Have any install pics?
I don't have my LC yet, on both my FJs I've had driving lights I can use on rural highways and backroads. I'll probably end up wanting the same on the LC. I've been thinking Diode Dynamics since they have street legal driving light patterns.
I didn't know they had 3 ply sidewalls. I wonder if all of them have that or just the E load? I'll have to do some digging.
Update: I can't find 3 ply sidewalls listed as a spec for this tire anywhere, with is normal for tires that are 2 ply or a different number of plies depending on...
I like Storm Radar on my phone but I haven’t checked how Car Play compatible it is. It did keep me from driving into a hail storm once. I’m interested to hear other folks’ suggestions.
I haven't had that problem on either FJ but maybe I just can't hear them over all the wind noise from the upright windshield and the roof rack and the generally not at all aerodynamic design! :ROFLMAO:
That looks designed to fail, the amount of leverage it gives you vs. a little plastic. Even if it was made out of aluminum I'd expect it to fail eventually. Probably ok if you made it out of steel.
Yeah maybe it’s because I’ve already owned a couple hybrids but when someone says “I bought a hybrid that uses both an electric motor and an internal combustion engine and I’m mad it uses both of those” I just don’t know what to think.
I’ve had previous Duratrac tires on my two FJ’s and liked them. The RT adds a three ply sidewall and comes instandard load in the Land Cruiser’s stock size so they’re my default choice when I finally get a Land Cruiser. I wish they came in SL in the 275 size. The tread pattern looks a little...
FD-Warranty is another I've seen mentioned.
If you are in California these folks might not be able to sell you an extended warranty. If anyone knows a dealer in California who will match prices, let me know!
I'm pretty sure 265/70R18 would be find on the 1958 wheels, but best to confirm with someone who has already done it. I' think I've seen some folks here who have?
I don’t think the battery or is big enough for a lot of benefit? Two things that really puzzle me on the Land Cruiser are why isn’t the battery larger and why isn’t the gas tank larger.
Seems like the best place to add this. Seen on Facebook:
“Christian Lagera:
In the event anyone needs to replace their air cabin filter, below is the Lexus part number of the charcoal activated version. My local Toyota dealership didn't have any Lana Cruiser air cabin filters in stock and...
If you stick with an offset in the 40-60 range there shouldn’t be a problem with rubbing from what I’ve seen. Icon had a video saying 40 is ideal for upsizing tires, by 20 you’ll start having problems.
Oh actually we have a 4th one now, the General Grabber APT:
Discount Tire | Tires and Wheels for Sale | Online & In-Person
It's an OEM Nissan/Infinity tire, and looks very light weight (40 lbs), so maybe not a real contender for offroad, but good for wanting to upsize for mostly on road use...
