    Extended Warranty

In my many years, 2 million miles plus of operating vehicles, on and off road, have never had an extended warranty, nor had a need for one. Hey, if I were into European vehicles, possibly, but I reason the odds are overwhelmingly in my favor with a Toyota.

Oil changing the 2024 Land Cruiser

Good and bad on the serviceable prop shafts. Had those on our 4Runner, and the front shaft was a PAIN. However, a big plus, with attention, the u-joints will never need replacing or fail at the worst possible time. Did mine every 5K, concurrent with oil changes, and when sold there was ZERO play...

LandCruiser LC + options vs. FE: LC works out to $6k less?

I'm with you on this logic. Have done the same math, and it is at least a $5K premium for the status of owning a FE.

LandCruiser LC + options vs. FE: LC works out to $6k less?

In heavy rock country here, I fear 20" wheels would be a real detriment. Will I be forced to accept them if on my LC in the queue? Unfortunately, probably. With good 18" wheels, not to mention tires, at roughly $2K/set, ouch!

LandCruiser LC + options vs. FE: LC works out to $6k less?

I'm glad you raised this issue, as it has crossed my mind also. A perk, and a mediocre one, as it does not do the underbody, from our Toyota dealer is lifetime included ("free" is not in my vocabulary) washes.

    Hi from Ohio

Welcome thmoez! Hmmm, you are getting my LC. :) Seriously, this what I also have on order. Ditto, do not wish 20's, but will likely be stuck with them. Has your dealer mentioned anything about a port hold? This seems to be what others are reporting with their orders.

Hello from the beautiful Mojave Desert

Do you ever venture up into Lincoln County? Lived there for many years, and great country to explore off-road. Was even better before the BLM declared multiple wilderness areas, forbidden to motorized vehicles.

A moron has been granted access to your forum

I am in the same boat regarding a GX, the nearest dealer being many miles across the state. So, on the waiting list for a LC with the local small dealer, literally within walking distance. Agree with you re the Tundra, and the recent engine woes, even though they are allegedly not present on the...

LandCruiser LC + options vs. FE: LC works out to $6k less?

Not a dealbreaker, but will certainly be a disappointment. With Toyota, what you see is what you get. Will probably also get stuck with 20" wheels.

Have any retractable running boards become available? I queried AMP, but they have been unresponsive.

Are you speaking of the Java? If so, agreed.

I was hoping for 500 miles per tank!

I think more in terms of MPG, but range is important also in the desert SW where we roam. Bringing back distant memories, when we would strap a 50-gallon drum of gasoline in the back of a Jeep J20 pickup and spend a weekend ferreting out abandoned mines and associated structures.

LandCruiser LC + options vs. FE: LC works out to $6k less?

I'm neutral re the lights, but definitely agree re the rock rails and roof rack. I would be a bit concerned the roof rack might be an issue with car washes.

    Another New Guy!

YotoPilot, welcome to the forum and the waitlist! Concerning factory options, I will consider myself lucky to receive the desired color (Meteor Shower), but it sounds like you will be doing aftermarket for such things as wheels and tires. No lift for this old man. :)

LandCruiser LC + options vs. FE: LC works out to $6k less?

Have been through the same drill, and agreed, one is paying dearly for the "First Edition". A moot point for me, as the owner of the dealership grabbed the only FE they will probably be getting. Besides, I wish running boards, not the recessed rock sliders. Also something strange, his FE was...

    Howdy from Golden

Nope, have not taken delivery. In the queue. My theory is the call for premium is to meet an EPA MPG goal, and that mid-grade will suffice. According to a post by a Toyota insider with engineering contacts, this appears to be the case. I agree, today's engines with knock sensors and variable...

Noticed a powertrain animation on YouTube showing the GX with the same hybrid as the LC. Of course that could change. Have you noticed the LC hybrid calls for premium fuel?

Welcome aboard! In the same boat, also seriously considered the GX. However, our Lexus dealer is distant, and even they have recalls, especially in the first year. So, anxiously awaiting a Land Cruiser, with the Premium package. Also, another consideration was the V6 in the GX. One sweet...

New from WA, RIP 4Runner TRD Pro, hi LC (or GX)

Welcome to the forum Denis! The QC hold has me frustrated also. Also in the queue for a LC/Meteor Shower/Premium. Was hoping to have it this summer to chase some trails, but it is not looking good. Hey, put many miles on Subarus on graded "roads", and they are survivors. The first had a manual...

Toyota HQ Raided!! Maybe this helps explain the delays we are all facing.

My feeling is Toyota is becoming profit-centric vs customer-centric. However, they still make great reliable vehicles. We will see how it shakes out with the transition from tried-and-true normally-aspirated engines to smaller-displacement turbo powerplants. They have excelled in the hybrid realm.

Toyota HQ Raided!! Maybe this helps explain the delays we are all facing.

Reading the press release, it doesn't appear any of the safety scandal vehicles are sold in the U.S.? Or, are those internal Toyota names?

Toyota HQ Raided!! Maybe this helps explain the delays we are all facing.

Toyota is eating humble pie as of late. The Tundra was not selling, now the massive engine recall. Then this scandal regarding falsifying safety data. And of course, us wishing a LC are sweating out the hold at ports action.
