Welcome aboard RoundRock_Cruiser! A new horn, huh? In this neck of the woods, very seldom is a horn heard, so not an issue. Looking forward to seeing your mods and hearing about your adventures. For sure screen protectors, especially the gauge cluster. What do you recommend?
Not in Boise, but I keep a watch on Idaho Falls and Pocatello. However, yes, would like to support our local dealer, from which we/family have purchased several vehicles.
Thanks! The Java interior may be the holdup. Will hang tight with my local dealer. Bedsides, here the off-roading season is rapidly evaporating. May have to hold off until Spring, and a 2025. Would love to see an upscale trim drop into the place of the FE. I really would like power running...
Worth a look, especially since procuring the LC of my choice is becoming an exercise in frustration. One big concern with the Armada would be depreciation, as it is historically terrible in this regard. A technical shopper, would need to know drivetrain details, such as lockable center...
Anxiously awaiting website configuration and pricing. It sure appears there will be a multitude of trims/options. How in the world is 4Runner going to make it work alongside the LC? I am nearly positive this is the reason for such limited LC trims/options. My personal opinion is the 4Runner...
I notice color-matching fender flares. Definitely would like this! Possibly a Limited trim? Another want, as is available on the sibling GX, are power running boards.
Yes, the classic straight-six was essentially a copy of the Chevy 235 of yester year. Timing gears, no chain, a BIG plus in my opinion. Toyota added fuel injection and electronic ignition to eliminate those problematic areas. The only thing I disliked was the FOUR belts, all manually tensioned...
Sadly, yes, the only game in town for a single-vehicle purchaser who wishes to use it for the road and trail, and have reliability. However, I am SO frustrated with Toyota's arrogant marketing practice, i.e. what-you-see-is-what-you-get, no special ordering, but am going to stay the course for a...
I keep thinking the alleged "chip shortage" may not be the key fob bottleneck. A couple of years ago, yes, but now? Come on Toyota, ramp up production!
Great article! Two things which bother me are the relays to switch power on/off, and a starter with a mandatory service life. Good grief, this day & age there are solid-state devices to replace mechanical relays.
Passing through Idaho huh? Well, since I live here, and it appears our LC will never arrive, can I bribe a railroad yard employee? LOL! In any case, welcome to the forum!
Interested, as STILL have not received our LC. The arrogance/indifference of Toyota is frustrating, to put it mildly. The present Armada is rock-solid with the V8, so anxious to see what happens. However, have to have full-time 4WD here in snow/ice country. I understand Toyota owns Torsen, so it...
Welcome, resident of Sin City! :) Lived there in the 60's, then in Lincoln County for years thereafter. Speaking of Lincoln County, I presume you have off-roaded there a bit? Lots to explore with your LC, and even more on an ATV (many "roads" to the abandoned mines have eroded to point of no...
Welcome JustinHEMI. Bummer, your USB ports seem to be delayed coming alive. However, does not sound like too difficult of a fix if it persists. But, procuring the parts/circuit board may be another matter. My first step if a tech would be to reseat applicable connectors.
Welcome Debbie! We are also 65+, actually 80+, and past 4Runner and LC owners. Have to get back in the fold. LCLC Premium should arrive soon. Also considered waiting for the new 4Runner, but disappointed it is a Tacoma forward of the back seat. Not a fan of the grossly protruding infotainment...
There are plenty of videos showing the damage the tests inflicted. They built homes, etc. in the blast areas. Or view The Day After. Old, but done very accurately. Agreed, insane the nuclear powers have these weapons on the ready, pointed at each other, and can launch within minutes.
" Nuke", as I spent my IBM career on the Nevada Test Site. Never viewed an above-ground detonation, put plenty of artificial earthquakes. My future wife did, arriving on station a bit prior to me.
