It appears you looked at the Luxury+ trim. Definitely a street queen, defined by the 22" wheels. However, will give Lexus credit, as they offer the Overtrail trims, when Toyota conspicuously omitted, presumably as not to impact the forthcoming new 4Runner offerings for serious off-roading.
If made of steel, they will rust. Just take for example the treated/painted Toyota frames. Thankfully, it appears the insides of the frames are now treated with more corrosion protection.
I am attempting to look on the bright side, i.e. ours may end up being a 2025, with most bugs worked out, and heck, they might even offer the power running boards we need, plus decent off-roading tires.
In the same boat, albeit not black. Not sure if to blame the dealer or, Toyota, i.e. special orders are a thing of the past. I think a combination of both. And yes, I see them cropping up on dealer lots, even FE's, but too distant.
Hey there! First off, welcome to the forum! Secondly, restoring a VW has my attention. Never a Vanagon, but have owned multiple VW's over my many years, and never lost the love. Sadly, just read an article wherein VW is struggling to survive. Sure hope they do not fold.
Welcome to the forum! Trading up from a Jeep product was a smart decision in my opinion, and speaking from ownership experience. The only advantage to a Jeep, from my off-roading, is the turning radius of a 2-door, and it definitely made a difference chasing trails to abandoned gold/silver mines...
Hey, basic internal combustion physics. The fuel/air ratio, as I recall, must be in the 14.5-15 arena. No magic carburetor (or injection system) exists, or could exist.
Hopefully someone can chime in, and explain. It was my rudimentary understanding that the higher the octane, the slower the burning of the fuel, hence no "detonation" (knocking). Detonation will destroy pistons, and probably damage other components. Modern engines employ knock sensors, retarding...
Welcome to the forum! Great photo of a great machine! Many of us can relate to the repair history of the Jeep brand, now owned by Stellantis. Hope our LC shows up with 18" wheels/tires as shown. So many purchasers are forced to the not so offroad suited 20".
Welcome aboard! You are SO lucky to find a LC on the lot of your liking. I think you will be happier with the LC/LC versus 1958, especially as a daily driver. Enjoy, and share your adventures...
Less rubber, more wheel, a loser for off-roading! Danged Toyota...
Hey if you do frequent some abandoned mines, post some photos. In my younger days in/around Nevada, those were what we frequented.
Hey there No15! Here I am worried about a LC for occasional/retiree running about, and you will use it as a daily driver. You are putting my mind to rest. From a Super Duty to the LC must be a major transition. How does it feel? Never have driven an M1163, but logged time in an M37A1, and...
Good grief, it is a tow hitch! Same metal/paint as the vehicle frame. I suppose one could apply a coat of polish if they wished. Welcome to the forum, DallasLC...
Thank you! What prompted the question was just viewing a 2025 4Runner video, and it distinctly had a temporary use spare tire. Cannot say if this is across the entire model line, as the trim filmed was a Limited, more-or-less a pavement machine.
I apologize if this has been covered, but a search did not reveal anything. Does the LC come with a full-capability FULL-sized spare? That is, not a temporary minimum-tread "full-sized" spare as it seems the 2025 4Runner has.
Well, there is the G-Wagen and Range Rover, possibly the Land Rover. However, cannot beat Toyota/Lexus for reliability. Strange that Lexus offers six GX trim levels, and Toyota 2 (the FE is a one-time thing). I am sure Toyota/Lexus has it all planned out, and in the case of the LC, somehow it...
Don't know what the chief engineer being overweight has to do with the subject, but certainly appreciate the technical details he shares. Regarding a 3rd-row here, going to be difficult to implement given the present placement of the hybrid battery.
Presuming you are aware the Overtrail went skimpy on the HVAC? No rear controls, or roof vents. Most likely had to meet a price point. Hopefully the capacity of the unit was not also trimmed.
Thanks! No surprise, as we have a dealer 90 miles down the road which does the same. Our local dealer, however small, is literally within walking distance, so will stick with them.
