Hello Ballermaris! Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have a jewel of a LC, especially the diesel engine. Yes, please post some photos, and include the engine compartment so we can express envy.
Hello Chief from a one-term airdale bluejacket in the early 60's. You have my extreme respect. Welcome to the group! Looking forward to your thoughts and questions re the new machine. Sadly, ours is still in the queue...
Cannot relate the specifics, as our LC has not arrived. However, on our Highlander the vent covers snap off to reveal filters on the underside. We have no pets or children, so they remain relatively clean, but some folks report having to clean these filters often.
One thing re the demo vehicles that would be of concern to me is the full-throttle tests prior to proper break-in. Their off-roading ventures were relatively mild, so no worry there.
Hello Lando, and congrats on your purchase! Have never heard the term "brass cap". Could it have been one of the demo vehicles we have viewed on YouTube driven by Toyota shills?
I user Leather Protectant Serum by Chemical Guys. Available online via Amazon. Not cheap, but I believe a quality product. However, not a cleaner, or multi-purpose as some other products allege, but only a preservative treatment.
Hmmm. Don't have our LC yet, but on our Highlander if one leaves the doors open, following a short period of time it powers off the lighting and the ability to operate other electrical devices, such as power windows, etc. Have you modified anything electrical?
I wonder if a "QC Hold" is a catch-all for such things as parts availability for options? Or, gasp, shipment damage? Viewed a recent video of a Toyota receiving facility in Canada, and it seems an alarming number of the receiving vehicles were flagged for shipment damage. Hopefully, just small...
Here also, as Toyota sure likes to add the profitable 20" wheels. Many comments on the forum where the Toyota Gulf states distributer loves to stack on the options. Crossing my fingers here...
Welcome!! As I recall the paint code is on the sticker on the door pillar? It is on our Highlander, a 3-digit code, a forward slash, then the interior color code. For instance, C/TR: 1K5/LA10. I presume the C/TR indicates Color/Trim.
What, I cannot briefly snooze while driving? :) Seriously, as a senior driver, any aid to avoiding mishaps is appreciated. TSS 3.0 is great in this regard...
Welcome! At 7500', that turbo should be just the ticket, and I would wager the 4Runner was out of breath. We owned a 2005 4R Limited, and before that a 1980 LC, plus a problematic Jeep in there somewhere, and grief with Ford diesel trucks. Only Toyotas in the future!
What a great retirement present! Been retired for a spell, but still going to spoil myself. One only goes around once! Can never get the off-roading out of my blood.
Regarding purchasing, I did put down a $1K deposit, and now sorry. Our single dealer is so small, they have no selection/ordering...
The Crown Signia has my attention. In our early 80's, it would be perfect for the wife's ingress/egress. And, with Toyota's bulletproof hybrid system...
I loved our VW original Beetles, but agree, no current German vehicles! Owned a BMW 335d, but could see it would become a money pit. Speaking of VW, they appear to be in serious financial trouble, as well as Stellantis. Thankfully, it appears Toyota predicted the market correctly, well, except...
Coming all too soon here in SE Idaho! In fact, a bit of the white stuff in the forecast for the storm arriving tonight/tomorrow. In my younger years I actually looked forward to the challenge of messy (and obviously dangerous!) roads. Put the pedal to the metal in my VW Beetles! No more! Hey...
I also follow the 2024 Tacoma forum, and no problems with the engine to mention. However, the transmission might be a different story, to the tune of a TSB on the issue, and the Toyota solution is a total transmission/torque converter replacement. The problem seems to be that residual machining...
