Welcome Swede! Anxious to see some photos of your off-roading in New Jersey. Are there any "public domain" roads trails there, i.e. on public lands? I have always envisioned your state as virtually all privately-owned.
Welcome Dennis! Sorry to hear about the seat memory function. I have not noticed this reported previously. Also sorry to hear you are disappointed with the multimedia system and driver assist settings. For me also, new vehicles can be a struggle to master. Folks are here to assist...
Hello Mike! Good desert-running rig! Wish I was there, as winter is rolling in here, and the off-roading opportunities will vaporize. Only been to your neck of the woods once, to Davis-Monthan AFB for work, and sadly, not in an off-roading machine.
The drivetrain engineering is great also, superior to the competitors in my opinion. Hence, not exactly the low-price leader, but top-notch engineering.
I think you are correct, short of using engine compression to slow the vehicle down after the battery is fully charged, sadly the traditional brakes come into play. No way does Toyota wish the traction battery to overcharge and risk damage. I suppose a dummy load resistor could be incorporated...
Wow, let me think about this! To say the least, a very interesting question. The only place it can store energy would be the traction battery. I suppose one could attach something to the 2400 watt AC outlet and put the energy to good use, but what? Freeze ice, a crock pot, or ??? Seriously, I...
"In the manual it states this is normal", meaning the drain you are measuring is normal? How long are we talking about until the battery goes dead? Would you be comfortable with using a low-current pulse charger/maintainer? Do not lead-acid batteries tend to sulphate when idle of long periods of...
Did I read someplace a Toyota hybrid vehicle, if stored, should be run a bit every three months? However, I prefer a pulse/de-sulphation charger/maintainer.
Wow, you smacked that skid plate quite severely! I can see myself doing the same hunting abandoned mines in your area. (A former long-time resident of Alamo and Panaca in Lincoln County, and have explored everywhere!)
Is it a heat pump, or just an electrically-driven compressor? I may be mistaken, but I think Toyota's hybrid vehicles utilize engine heat as in the past. EV's another story, heat pump, resistance, or a combination.
Of course, the alternative is, just stop following the threads one finds repetitive or irritating. They eventually fade away. I am still hopeful the issue will be addressed by the individual who posted regarding his personal interaction with Toyota engineering.
Not sure what their offering will be, but tests show that less restrictive air filter options, such as K&N, allow markedly more particulates to pass through. As many of us will be using our LC's offroad in dusty conditions, best carefully consider this factor.
You will be crucified on this discussion for doing this, but I'm with you, the engine will adjust. If I were pulling a trailer up a long grade in the summer, pushing the envelope, sure, 91 octane might be my choice. Wish I could locate the post, wherein, from the mouth of a Toyota employee with...
Did you perchance view the video of the swap procedure? Interesting to me was post-swap they have to be initialized/programmed with the dealer device. If this can be accomplished with 3rd-party devices, not sure.
Hopefully all owners will be forthcoming and specific in regard to encountered issues! We also have to keep in mind it will be a small sample, i.e. only forum members. For instance, would really like to know the full extent of the transmission problems, seeing there is now a TSB in this regard.
Not just Prius owners hate the obnoxious folks who roll coal. Folks with respiratory challenges suffer greatly. And, of course it is illegal to modify a vehicle to do this.
