Our Highlander Hybrid does the same. I think just the hybrid systems shutting down. In fact, it seems in the owner's manual there is a blurb about noises, even after the vehicle has been parked for some time...
Personally, I do roughly 1000 miles light-duty, varied speeds below 70, on throttle, off throttle, change the oil/filter, then gradually ramp up the load. Our present Highlander doesn't consume a drop of oil between 5K changes.
Welcome to forum HB! If you receive your new LC in 4-6 weeks I will be one jealous person. Our "order" went in 5 weeks ago, and no confirmation from Toyota. However, our dealership is very small. Yes, I was in a similar job setting for many years, not even phone access to the outside world.
If it will make you feel any better, the Toyota allocation system applies everywhere. Allegedly if one places an order there is a "preference" given to that order in regard to color and features, but have my doubts. In reality, what you see at the dealer is what you can pick from.
Great assessment! It is really strange how they did not do the overhead vents and tri-zone climate control in the GX Overtrail models, but even the 1958 trim level of the LC has this.
As a senior citizen+, I definitely prefer the interior styling of the LC versus the new 4runner. Don't need the console grab handle, nor the protruding infotainment screen.
Welcome to the forum PMP50! Of course the 2025 4Runner will be a completely different animal, in essence a Tacoma with a passenger/cargo rear, akin to when the 4Runner was first introduced. The Taco, 4Runner. and LC will all share the same frame/drivetrain. If they share the same brakes, not...
An IBM mainframe CE myself, the last of which was a 3081 and 3084 with lots of DASD attached. My second career, IT director for a small school district, and we encountered a lot of hardware grief with the Mac workstations. And yes, some of our children use Apple products., to my dismay. Well...
My key question would be if a "Restored" machine comes with a generous and comprehensive warranty. Sorry El Chorizo, as a retired IBM'er, a Mac is not in my blood, especially in light of the fact some of my software only runs comfortably on a Windows machine.
I would love to visit the Tahara plant and personally see if, short of acoustic glass, there is a difference in the sound-deadening materials between LC and GX. My guess, yes.
Just viewed a video comparing the LC and GX, the latter employing acoustic glass on the door windows. The difference was noticeable, but not pronounced. Of course the other quietness factor with the GX is the smooth V6. He did mention the roof rack was also a contributor.
It certainly begs the question, why use the same headlights on both the base and high-end model? Hope someone will post the light pattern for the horizontal headlights.
Anybody's guess, I think. My theory, they are not releasing many trim levels, so as not to compete with the forthcoming 4Runner. Just look at the sibling GX550, six trim levels, even two off-road specific.
Hey there mrpoopyface, welcome. Well, one good thing, and I am probably in the same boat, it may be into the 2025 MY, with some of the glitches worked out. They tried to substitute a 1958, but holding tight for a Land Cruiser trim with the Premium Pkg. To partially answer your question, put a...
In my opinion, obviously not the best practice, as engines tend to accumulate sludge with repeated very short trips. I would do more frequent oil changes than the minimum recommended by Toyota. Luckily it is a diesel, so no catalytic converter to worry about, as they tend to clog with short...
