This puzzle me, as noticed the specs on the LC in an international market, albeit most likely a diesel, but it was right at 30 gallons. Some might say the hybrid battery intrudes on space for the fuel tank, but to me it appears to actually intrude on what would normally be rear floor space.
GREAT info! If accurate, my dealer has been dishonest regarding the 2024 window for ordering a LC. They called with glee on 5/17 to say they had great news, that Toyota had starting accepting orders. Heck, the 2024 window had already closed by then.
As was our 2005 4Runner Limited. Not a single issue. I believe many Lexus products are built at Tahara. The Hamura plant builds, or built, Hino trucks for the international market, but they never came to the U.S. to my knowledge.
However, note he has not been able to tour the Hamura/Hino plant. It probably does great work, but not the modern plant as Tahara. Honestly, not a big concern with me, but still hoping we receive a Tahara built LC.
It is a hit & run, and you have the video. I would definitely report it to the police. Possibly the company owning the vehicle would settle without going through insurance, as insurance companies tend to record incidents, regardless of who is at fault.
I came really close to selecting the Overtrail, but discovered Lexus omitted the three-zone HVAC, which is even standard on the 1958. No ceiling vents or rear seat control. I'm sure it had to do with price point. The Luxury+ with 22" wheels was a no-no, even though now only a casual off-roader...
Yes, am concerned I will be stuck with the 20" wheels, even though not on my "order". Sad, in the Toyota world what you see is what you get. Take it or leave it. Arrogance. And yes, probably close to 4K, and that is what I have budgeting for winter wheels/tires.
Many would argue, the LC with the Premium Pkg is a much better bargain. However, there is the prestige, Toyota orchestrated by only producing 5000 copies, that the FE is worth the hefty premium.
Congrats, and welcome to the forum saratogacoach! Following, as when our LC arrives I hope to be fully educated. Yes, our 1990 LC was very basic compared to present day. Is that a good thing, or bad?
Good thing they come with a full-sized spare! This is one of my big concerns, in rural Nevada off-road someplace, and blow a tire. The chances of finding a replacement will be next to zero.
Welcome reclinerhead! Yep, enhancements can be pricy, but as I remind the wife, spend it, as the kids are drooling over an inheritance. When we finally receive our LC, the first expenditure will be winter/ice tires/wheels.
I'm sure the average dealer will try to lowball you, some worse than others. Do your homework, look up the value online, and go armed ready to do battle. Give no quarter.
Yes, 4Runners have been built in Japan. Not sure about the 2025's, as they are basically a Tacoma. They could possibly end up being built in Mexico for the U.S. Hope not.
