Update - I finally got word that my replacement windshield was in and I dropped the LC off yesterday for the replacement. They took ~24 hours to do the work, it was the first one they had replaced and they wanted extra time to get everything calibrated again. End result is a much clearer HUD...
I have moved mine as low on the windshield as possible, my eyes are always drawn to it and then i notice the alignment issue. My wife drives a Q5 with a HUD and it is perfectly clear in all situations. I have astigmatism so red dots all look like a blur to me unfortunately, I actually assumed...
I hope the windshield cures the alignment issues on mine but I am tempering my expectations. When troubleshooting with the dealership initially they checked several other models (not LC) on the lot and there wasn’t a single one with a sharp HUD. Not sure if it’s a bad batch of glass or if...
1. Which plan: Platinum 10 yr/100,000 mile/$0 Deductible
2. What it cost $ 2,230
3. Which dealership? Midwest Toyota, Hutchinson KS
4. A point of contact Jerry Johnson
I have an LC premium with just over 3k miles and mine definitely has some erratic shifts but the seem isolated to the lower gears. Seems like I notice it most when the electric motor is augmenting power moving out from a stop. It’s not bad enough that I would consider selling and I haven’t...
Update here - after repeated weekly calls with Toyota and them telling me they are still “researching the issue” I finally pressed and told them that they need to replace either the windshield or the HUD, I don't care which. They contacted my local dealer and apparently they have placed an...
I took it apart today to have a look, no real added complexity from the camera or other speakers. Looks like the JBL system has a different part # for the woofer (86150-60430), not sure what is actually different than the standard LC system. Did your woofer have a 4 wire connector? If so did...
Just wrapped up the install, overall took about an hour and I referenced the beat sonic YouTube video on how to disassemble everything. Place mine in the same spot they did, it’s tucked back in behind the radio and appears to fit pretty well in that location. Make sure you have some trim tools...
I ordered mine from Olathe Toyota Parts Center in KS, they were $585 for the pair and they only charged $27 to ship it (but I’m also in OK so relatively close). Check their site out and see what the shipping quote is to your location.
Yes I believe it can but you’ll have to remove the rear of it to install the transmission skid when it arrives. I think you’ll also have to remove the skid for the sway bar disconnect (if you have it) so that would be unprotected until the rear skid arrives.
How involved was the hatch panel removal? I have a premium with the JBL but i suspect its running the same sub as the standard and I am thinking about ordering the MSW 265 as well
Still waiting on a solution from Toyota, I talked to the customer care rep yesterday and she said there is only one model of windshield listed for the Land Cruiser. She thought it was odd that there isn’t a separate part number for models with a HUD so she was going to do more digging.
I checked and mine doesn’t appear to have any residue on it, might take a stab at cleaning it just in case. I did have a call with a case manager today from Toyota, they are going to do some digging and call me back on Friday to discuss a plan to try and fix the HUD.
I drove a 5th gen for the past 10 years, while it would be interesting to see how the engine performed with a better transmission Im not sure I would be willing to trade down in HP and torque after driving the LC.
Markets outside the US have headlamp washers and color matched bumpers and fenders already in the 2024 model, I think those features will likely remain market specific. Given the relatively late introduction in 2024 I would be surprised to see much in the way of changes for the 2025 model...
Thank you! Interesting that yours is ML14SH and mine is ML14S. I wonder if the “H” denotes that it’s for a HUD (potentially confirming that mine has the wrong windshield)
On mine I need to set cruise to standard (not adaptive), turn lane departure off on the steering wheel, and turn off LDA in the menu on gauge cluster. See pics of my HUD before and after (also highlights the ghosting I am seeing):
That displays the tachometer above the speed, so far the only way I have found to get it back is to turn off a bunch of driver assistance stuff (adaptive cruise, land departure assistance, maybe some others).
