Canadian and US models usually have different options.. For some reason Toyota Canada appears to have simplified, 4 models and no options. (1958, LC, LC Premium, FE)
Short article with a quick comparison of 4Runner and LC

Related update from GXOR facebook group, video of someone installing 285/75/17 tires on 17*8.5 0et wheels on a GX. WIththe crush can removed they fit, but will need some fender trimming to ensure no rubbing. WIth more positive offset, they say the tires should fit fine.

Wrtite up: (No idea HOW authentic this is, but lines up)
Like prior 4Runners, the new model also shares a lot with the latest Tacoma midsize pickup including the powertrains. Toyota’s increasingly ubiquitous 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder will be under the hood of all sixth-generation...
Only item outstanding is the Lease & Finance rates... fairly easy to find a range looking at the other new vehicle releases. (Taco, Tundra, Sequoia etc)
Thats just a photosop of the Tacoma interior.. you can see the poor work on the dash where "Tacoma" letters usually are. I do think it will be pretty damn close though.

There is no confusion.. the vehicle requires premium, but like the majority of vehicles, it wont stop working if a lower power grade fuel is used. You just lose performance and it will dial back the timing. Ideal and advertised fuel mileage is seen with premium.
Just got back from the Calgary Auto show, LC FE present but locked. Toyota rep wasn't aware it required premium, but was listed in the specs on their tablet..
For comparisons sake, while the engine layout is different, the Grand Highlander Hybrid Max weighs 4936lbs and goes 0-60 in 5.6.. It has 362hp and 400lb ft.
Tacoma iForce Max and LC both have the 326hp and 465lb ft variant.
I saw that.. but a tune that doesnt actually change any performance data.. --that we know of-- If they have the same engine performance specs.. why does one require premium? I would get it if the LC had higher Hp or Tq.. but doesnt appear that it does.
