Thanks for the tip about the lower tabs. I haven't tried pulling mine off yet. Tell us more about the recovery hitch you have in the picture. It looks pretty sweet.
Welcome. You're right, there is lots of talk about what is a "real" land cruiser. I don't even like going on the ih8mud forum anymore much, it's so toxic but hilarious at the same time. The Land Cruiser 250 is just as capable as the 80/100/200 series, if not more so.
I had one on my 1992 FJ80. When I got it the drain tubes were clogged causing a leak. I cleaned those out and never had another problem for the many years I owned it.
For sure! They have to be asking a lot to make any sort of profit. Pretty shitty when people that actually want them can't get them while these flippers are doing this.
If they were really serious about EV they would create real solutions. Make removable battery packs universal across all brands. You roll up to the station. Attendant removes conveniently located battery pack and swaps it with a charged one. Pay the guy and drive away. Fast as gas/diesel service.
I think there are a few misprints or something. The FE also said "All weather floor liners and cargo mats" standard but the all weather cargo mat was an additional $130.
It handles great. My daily driver before this was a Highlander. The Land Cruiser is much quieter and smother. It has a much more firm ride yet you don't feel the bumps as much as the highlander. It has plenty of power though I haven't really gotten on it because I want to break it in nicely.
That's exactly what I am going to do when I take it in for it's scheduled oil changes. I think they have it at 10,000 mile intervals. I'm changing mine at 1,000 after the brake-in period and every 5,000 miles. Oil is one of the cheapest ways to keep an engine healthy. Especially with a turbo...
It's tough to measure because the sides/back slope in as well as the front being a wind deflector. I'd say those measurements are accurate for the base. The measurements I'm getting for the actual top surface are around 43" wide and 58 1/2" long.
On my highlander I could drain the oil but to get to the filter I had to take of this aerodynamic panel. It had 2 little bolts and about 5 of those plastic push/pull things that suck to take out. I'd rather have the 6 big bolts easy to access on this. I'm pretty sure it's steel.
Yes! There is a button by the mirror adjustment that you can toggle to automatically fold in or not. There is another button next to that to do it manually if your in a narrow trail or something and want to bring them in.
I've watched the last 3 ships that dropped off land cruisers at Portland. Every time they left, the ship went up to BC. I would say there are land cruisers up there. I don't know if any were FE's though.
I just pulled mine up on my ramps to take a look. I would say yes. I can reach up and get to the oil filter but it would make a huge mess that way. I can't even see the oil pan with the skid plate. The front skid plat overlaps the rear one so that can stay put. The skid pan is held on by 6...
