It's part of cruise control. It will automatically turn on that mode when traffic slows, it will recognize you are in traffic. You can even engage it at a stop. I was in traffic and engaged cruise control @ 65mph and it will just sit there until traffic moves.
Yes it does. I just put a little pressure on the bottom with my knee every so often so it thinks my hands are on it. Works amazing with the traffic jam assist. It will go to a dead stop and start again as traffic starts moving.
It doesn't get dark until way past 9pm around here and I have two young kids. When winter comes I'll be out in the dark much more. The couple times I've had it out I didn't pay much attention but had no complaints about the camera. I could still see everything around me.
Unless they are horrible at creating cool engine sounds, no. It sounds just like you would imagine a turbo 4cyl / hybrid to sound. It doesn't bother me though. If I wanted a cool sounding car I would buy a muscle car and stick to the pavement.
The Catalytic converter is way up right off the engine. Someone is going to have a heck of a time trying to steal that. If they do, you have more problems with everything they cut out to get to it.
They cover a huge area, you don't want that in one piece. It's a great design where the front overlaps the rear so you don't have to remove the rear if you are just changing oil.
I would check your local dealer's parts department. You can buy them online as well but I sometimes find it cheaper at my local dealer.
The Engine skid plate is pt228-60242. The Transmission skid plate is pt228-35241
Here are a couple links. I haven't ordered from this place, just the least...
10k. They are going to spend the least amount of money possible. This is probably one of the biggest reasons they have pushed 'recommendations' to 10k miles. If anything goes wrong with wear, it will be well after warranty.
I'm glad you posted that part number. I was going to say you can order the FE skid plate as I've seen it on even the 1958 version.
As for removal/install, it is quite easy with the two key hole bolt holes that allow you to hold it up. You don't have to hold the skid pan while trying to thread a...
Post lots of pictures. I can't wait to see what they figure out for a consumer bumper. They mentioned that they had to heavily modify that one. The consumer one should be a little less aggressive.
This is exactly what I do. I already did a 1K oil change and I plan on 5k/5k on.
For the dealer free 10k oil changes I'll be removing the skid plate before I take it in. This way I can both inspect the work and ensure they don't cross thread my bolts.
It’s stock 1st edition. 265/70 18” tires. I don’t know about the roof rail height. I only have the roof rack. I’d guess that they are really close in height.
I'm glad you were able to get a hold of one. I felt bad being an hour away in Olympia but this last week of school for kids is busy and then I'm out of town for a couple weeks. I would have loved to come up there so you guys could test fit on mine.
