Here's some photos of my dirtcom carrier
No issues with window clearance, and I've got a 12.5in wide tire on there
Heres a side shot of the hitch clearance
Sounds like we've got similar problems... I used to have a full sized roof rack on my old 4runner that I used to carry my kayaks
Like you mentioned, the cleaning is annoying and cumbersome, and usually after a long fishing trip and taking the kayak on/off, the last thing you want to do is scrub...
This same thing happens on 5th gen 4runners and I think toyota already sets up their trucks for what they think people will fit.
My 4runner wasn't accurate with stock size wheels, but with 285, the speedo was now accurate. Same thing happened with my LC. When I put the 34s on, speedo was right on
The 11.5s still look beefy and good. I went wider for more float on sand, but 11.5 is probably better for mpg, etc...
The spring rate definitely increased, it's a bit stiffer of a ride. It was much more noticeable when I had my 34s on there. With the 35s, those tires are so heavy they just...
Those tires will fit with no lift, that's the same size dissent put on before they went wild with their mods. But - you'll need a little positive offset to push that tire further out of the wheel well so that you don't rub on the frame. Rubbing on liner is ok, that can be fixed
Offset is how...
Some simple trimming will fix that rubbing very easily. See my post here of what I did
Thread 'Fitting 35s with no rubbing on compression' Fitting 35s with no rubbing on compression
I'll try and get some more photos of what to do with the screw at the bottom. But basically, there's one screw...
I'm betting that you'll be fine. I'm running +25 offset with 12.5in wide tires.
With +18 your rims will stick out about .27 in more than my setup. But, with 285s (11.2in width), you'll pull back in by a full 0.75in (1.5 / 2).
So you'll be about 0.5 in further in than mine, that'll look...
Think you need to reread the reply post, I'm saying you don't need a lift to fit 35s. Again, dissent offroad shows you don't need a lift to fit 35s
Lift, no lift, you can fit 35s, period. And no rubbing π
Enjoy your 32s buddy, obviously this post isn't for you. Chill out and go enjoy your ride
My daughter kicks the crap out of that glove box also π
This is a mod that I didn't realize I needed! Will you have some other graphic options other than the topo layout?
Before you decide on getting a full suspension kit, just keep in mind that those nicer shocks require annoying maintenance and upkeep
For example, kings need to be rebuilt at least after 50k miles. A real PITA if you don't have another vehicle to drive during that time. If you don't do the...
Yes, it was edited afterwards to further clarify it's lifted. I mentioned it was lifted, but expanded to add the westcott info
Keep up with the news, brother! You can add 35s with no lift, dissent offroad already showed that back this summer, with 11.5in wide tires and at least a +40 offset...
Just some caution with these... I had something similar on my old 4runner and they broke off on a water crossing, breaking the grill also. PITA for no reason...
1958 here,and it's perfect for what I'm needing.
I beach fish a lot and prefer the hard plastic, you can brush the sand off easier. On the dash portion that has the soft touch stuff, it tends to stick more to that than brush off. The salt spray doesn't clean that easily off the soft touch...
Beautiful pistol, I love seeing the WC crown on 9mm, it looks so nice
I've got 2 Wilson's, but they're pretty old. My first one is a commander sized CQB from 2008 lol. It looks "plain" compared to the fancy details they do now, but it still runs like a tank and extremely accurate. Carried this...
Run one of these under your truck for about 10 min, you'll be surprised how much crap gets washed out...
After a long fishing trip, helps to get all the beach sand & salt off mine
