I’ve got a FE in Meteor Shower on the way to the Port of Portland right now - ship arrives next week.
Interested to see what aftermarket options come out for leveling the cargo area for sleeping. Also considering a hard shell RTT. Looking forward to seeing what people do with the cargo area.
Agreed, I would have paid extra for the onboard ARB. Wish they would have offered it on the LCs like the Tacoma and the 4R. I think some of the mobile compressors peak under 15amp so the inverter should handle the smaller ones with an AC plug adapter.
Looking at air compressors for the trail and wondering if there are any good ones out there that would work off the 2400w inverter? I like the Viair compressors, anyone use a DC/AC converter with them? I’d like to avoid popping the hood if possible. Any recommendations? Not sure if the max amp...
It’s all relative I guess… trust the reviews and the engineering -
But then again, I bought our house in WA sight unseen… (was living in Canada during Covid and the US border was closed)
That worked out pretty good so hoping the LC will be the same! 👍🏼
Dealer confirmed departure yesterday with a 4/25 arrival. I’m guessing he’s off on the port date as I don’t see any others inbound other than the Sweet Pea. 👍🏼
For anyone interested, I reached out to Canvasback to see if they’d measure and add liners for the 250 to their product lineup. The sales rep said they would but timing depends on interest, so shoot them a line and let them know that you’re interested if so.

I’m going to pretty annoyed if the FE roof rack can’t support a RTT. The 4R gets an ARB rack with a significant load limit, hopefully the $1500 FE roof rack is more than cross rails with a frame…
Not Moab, but I’m heading to the PNW Overland Expo in Bend, OR in June if anyone wants to meet up. Picked up camping passes and will be there in the FE.

Just watched all the official media along with a couple reviews from TRDJon and others, I have to say as a former 5th Gen owner, I love the new Trailhunter color and package. I’m still sticking with my inbound FE and I’m very excited to be a LC owner, but it’s looking like the differences...
Same plan here. My FE is inbound and I’ve spoken with my dealer about a trade in for the stock Michelins in exchange for purchase of 275/70R18 BFG KO2s. Should fit fine.
Unless they’ve changed their approach, watch out for the dealer markup after they get you on the line. They were charging $5699 over MSRP when I spoke with them last month.
Thx!
Wish I could pick it up from the production facility when they’re done rather than the dealer. Mine will be 45 min away in Tacoma headed to a dealer 8 hours away in OR. Just going down to fly down and enjoy the drive back 🤷🏼♂️👍🏼
My dealer took a deposit on an allocated vehicle (spec sheet with a temporary VIN assigned - noted by letters in the last 6). I negotiated price and signed a purchase agreement with the stated TSRP and wired the deposit. A few days later the dealer advised of the build date on the line in Japan...
All of the show and review vehicles are 265/70-18 Michelin LTX Trails. Doubtful we’ll get something better like the GX Toyos so I’m hedging and planning to upgrade.
Question will be whether 275/70-18s will fit without rubbing or if we’ll need to stay with the stock 265 size (in an AT tire). TBD
Looking at putting a RTT on the FE - any idea if the roof rack will support one or what the load limit will be? The vehicle manual states a low load limit for the factory roof rails, but hoping the rack is different.
I asked my dealer if they’d do a credit for the Michelins take offs - he said they have a couple of tire shops they work with and he’d look into it. Looking to put 275/70r18 Toyos or BFG KO2s on prior to delivery -
Might be worth checking with your dealers to see if you can get a take off credit.
Tacoma hybrid and Land Cruiser (also a hybrid) drive events are next month for the press, there will be plenty of info out in the next couple of weeks.
To the larger lack of communication from Toyota and the disproportionate allocation of FEs in different regions, I agree.
PNW and West coast...
