    Premium fuel required, or not?

This is Alberta. Thank God we only pay GST.

BREAKING: Vehicle Ordering Guide - Canada

I emailed my dealer last weekend asking if my order had at least been acknowledged by Toyota Canada and/or if they've received any allocation confirmations yet. Not so much as a reply. So I sent an online enquiry to another dealer who responded within an hour. When I asked about waiting...

    Storage

Ha! You're preaching to the choir.

    Leather for Softex Swap

Although it gets larger without the cooler box. And with that 2400 watt outlet in the back, you can have a cooler that carries a few DOZEN! (y)

    Storage

That is actually true. (y) However it's my "I'm older than 40's" reading glasses that I store in there.

    Leather for Softex Swap

I agree 100%. I personally think the cooler box is a straight up gimmick - especially considering there is basically NO other cockpit storage in that thing besides the glove box.

Westcott Design Land Cruiser MOAB Edition

It seems Westcott has more of them than all Canadian dealers combined as far as I can tell. Pretty sure a lot of the Canadian ETA's we were hearing were BS, but I would be happy to be corrected on that. I will likely wait a bit before doing much customization, other than a tire upgrade - MAYBE...

    Storage

That sucks. Last thing I want is my reading glasses rattling around inside. Might have to get creative. Seriously Toyota...no sunglasses holder?? My '07 Tundra's centre console is big enough to hold a hanging file folder FFS.

    Storage

I wasn't aware of the lack of storage. That's bad for me as my vehicle is a bit of a mobile office, and my Tundra has HEAPS of clever storage. That is one reason I'm not getting the premium - I want the storage over a beer...er'...water cooler box.

    Accurate ETA’s?

I sent an email yesterday. Told him I’m hearing of buyers receiving orders and others all over the place who’ve received ETA’s even VIN numbers. So I’ve asked him to confirm whether they’ve at least gotten confirmation of my order and/or allocation updates from Toyota. I’ve not been hounding...

    Accurate ETA’s?

I'm with you. I literally got the ball rolling with my dealer to start a wait list - I'm #1. Paid a deposit early September. I know absolutely zero at this point other than having placed my order for colour and trim preference back in December. There have been no updates since then, and...

    Leather for Softex Swap

I wish JBL was a standalone option. And leather. Really the only 2 things I want out of the premium package, so I've ordered non-premium..

    Leather for Softex Swap

I have seen the same here in Canada. Only difference is we don't need the Premium package to get the sunroof (which I believe is a requirement down there).

BREAKING: Vehicle Ordering Guide - Canada

Good question that I don't know the answer to. Personally I find paddle shifters to be a gimmick. I've never used them in my Audi.

    Tire Upgrade ?

I'm no expert, but seems to me that might be a bit tight for an offroader where mud caking in the rims is to be expected.

    Real World mpg

Because I currently spend about $160 a week fueling up my Tundra. If I wanna go fishing in the mountains for the day, it's a $50 round trip. To go fishing! I'd rather my weekly fuel bill be $102 (it would be based on LC fuel ratings), which adds up to over $3000 less in fuel spend per year...

I heard 290 FE for Canada. Not sure if that's accurate.

Canadian version LC trim comes with sunroof without needing to upgrade to the Premium.

    Performance?

Meh...there's the odd exception, but I still wouldn't buy an SUV to do the duty of a sports car.
  23. S

    Performance?

I have JBL in my Tundra. It blows away the Harman Kardon I had in my BMW and the Bang & Olufsen in my wife's Audi. Fuller sound, better depth and soundstage, and punchier without having to turn it way up. Although the JBL in my wife's old Venza wasn't nearly as good as the one in the Tundra.
  24. S

    Performance?

Further to this, I never quite understood the concept of "high performance SUV" in the first place. If it's high performance you're after, no SUV on earth delivers that. It's always a compromise.

    Canadian Deliveries

Attention Canadian members (or those with insider knowledge): Considering the configurator on Toyota.ca came out roughly 2 months after the US, and also that most dealers are still reluctant to provide ETA's while buyers in the US are taking possession as we speak, I'd like to start this thread...

    Power steps

Perhaps not, but it's offered as a factory option on the GX, so maybe one could figure something out.
