I emailed my dealer last weekend asking if my order had at least been acknowledged by Toyota Canada and/or if they've received any allocation confirmations yet. Not so much as a reply. So I sent an online enquiry to another dealer who responded within an hour. When I asked about waiting...
I agree 100%. I personally think the cooler box is a straight up gimmick - especially considering there is basically NO other cockpit storage in that thing besides the glove box.
It seems Westcott has more of them than all Canadian dealers combined as far as I can tell. Pretty sure a lot of the Canadian ETA's we were hearing were BS, but I would be happy to be corrected on that.
I will likely wait a bit before doing much customization, other than a tire upgrade - MAYBE...
That sucks. Last thing I want is my reading glasses rattling around inside. Might have to get creative. Seriously Toyota...no sunglasses holder?? My '07 Tundra's centre console is big enough to hold a hanging file folder FFS.
I wasn't aware of the lack of storage. That's bad for me as my vehicle is a bit of a mobile office, and my Tundra has HEAPS of clever storage. That is one reason I'm not getting the premium - I want the storage over a beer...er'...water cooler box.
I sent an email yesterday. Told him I’m hearing of buyers receiving orders and others all over the place who’ve received ETA’s even VIN numbers. So I’ve asked him to confirm whether they’ve at least gotten confirmation of my order and/or allocation updates from Toyota. I’ve not been hounding...
I'm with you. I literally got the ball rolling with my dealer to start a wait list - I'm #1. Paid a deposit early September. I know absolutely zero at this point other than having placed my order for colour and trim preference back in December. There have been no updates since then, and...
I have seen the same here in Canada. Only difference is we don't need the Premium package to get the sunroof (which I believe is a requirement down there).
Because I currently spend about $160 a week fueling up my Tundra. If I wanna go fishing in the mountains for the day, it's a $50 round trip. To go fishing!
I'd rather my weekly fuel bill be $102 (it would be based on LC fuel ratings), which adds up to over $3000 less in fuel spend per year...
I have JBL in my Tundra. It blows away the Harman Kardon I had in my BMW and the Bang & Olufsen in my wife's Audi. Fuller sound, better depth and soundstage, and punchier without having to turn it way up. Although the JBL in my wife's old Venza wasn't nearly as good as the one in the Tundra.
Further to this, I never quite understood the concept of "high performance SUV" in the first place. If it's high performance you're after, no SUV on earth delivers that. It's always a compromise.
Attention Canadian members (or those with insider knowledge): Considering the configurator on Toyota.ca came out roughly 2 months after the US, and also that most dealers are still reluctant to provide ETA's while buyers in the US are taking possession as we speak, I'd like to start this thread...
