Just got an email from my dealer (after my sending yet another asking for an update). He sent me the order confirmation that says "Pending Fulfillment", which means Toyota have confirmed the order, but my vehicle has not been built yet. That's a bit frustrating, but at the same time, given...
I'm not really believing anything I hear at this point. They still can't even figure out for sure why the QC hold is in place in the US. We certainly won't have any definitive info here in Canada.
Respectfully, I think you're conflating 2 different issues.
When a vendor misrepresents something or changes the terms after representing what they are, that's essentially "bait and switch". You've seen yourself how damages may be incurred as a result - for example, while I'd never do such a...
Hi Gina,
Congrats on the new Land Cruiser - I'm sure you'll enjoy it for a long time!
In case you're interested (and maybe you're not), there may be some recourse for you through the Arkansas Motor Vehicle Commission. Might be worth reporting your dealer at the least. You wouldn't have to...
Agreed. There is absolutely no way shady dealers should be allowed to walk. Not sure if there is a governing body that oversees the industry there, but here in Canada there are provincial automotive dealership watchdogs to ensure this kind of crap doesn't happen without consequences.
You're lucky to even know that! I'm #1 on my dealer's list, and they won't even confirm that Toyota has acknowledged my order or whether the colour and trim I ordered are what they're being sent.
In Canada, there are laws protecting most new car buyers for this. In most provinces, the advertised price of the vehicle has to be the all-in price of the vehicle aside from taxes only (freight, dealer fees, etc. must be included unless specified). Dealers are not allowed to increase the...
IF you can find someone to sell you one, but typically there are embargos in place on this kind of thing to protect dealers on either side of the border.
Given the state of the economy, cost of living, and interest rates (all courtesy of an incredibly inept government), I'd believe there have been numerous cancellations. That said, I'm sure there are still buyers out there.
The total silence is what's so weird to me. My dealer never did...
No. I think the LC is targeted towards a more mature audience who isn't as attracted to shiny objects, or who can afford to customize. That said, the FE's are essentially a TRD Pro version without the suspension, so who knows.
I wish I had the same relationship I used to. I've bought 3 Toyota's directly from the Sales Manager at my dealer at fleet pricing. He's no longer there, so I'm dealing with a stranger now.
I would never get film protection from the dealer unless you're looking to roll it into payments. It's literally double or more what you'll pay going to the same place Toyota uses.
