I agree. Many of the challenges in manufacturing are resolving themselves, so while I don't predict vehicle pricing to come down, I do think the craziness will end soon.
Never even considered the part about chewing through tires, but makes total sense. Your experience sounds pretty consistent with many others I've read. I want to like the idea of EV's, but for someone who lives where we have almost 5 months of winter, and I can often be 3 hours from the...
Yeah, good point. And the tires are almost 33" I believe, so not too bad. Will be interesting to see what a guy could get away with without a lift/cutting, although the fuel efficiency is a big part of the reason I'm so interested in this vehicle. Will really have to weigh the pros and cons. βοΈ
I'm curious where those 4Runner spec's came from - specifically ground clearance. Maybe that's the 2WD version? Only thing I'm seeing is 9.6 inches for the 4Runner, which is the part about the LC that's been bugging me a bit. 8.7 inches ground clearance is pretty modest for something intended...
From what I'm aware, here in Canada it's not legal for dealers to sell above MSRP. π€
I'm #1 at my local dealer. I guess I'll decide at the time which trim to get (if First Edition is even available), however I prefer the rectangular headlights, so am leaning towards the Land Cruiser trim level...
Yah OK, thanks. Pretty much figured that. I find the tailgate a bit of a PITA for loading stuff - especially when the tailgate is muddy or dirty. I get that enough with my Tundra, but I can see the appeal for someone who doesn't also own a truck.
As a non-LC owner, can someone tell me what the big deal about the loss of the tailgate is? Aside from the looks, and the ability to locate the spare there, I honestly don't get it - I would think the liftgate is an improvement since it can also shield from wind and rain. I used to get really...
Those were great little trucks! Welcome aboard. I'm surprised to see as many "elder statesman" on here as there seem to be. I'm in a similar boat. I expect this could likely be the last offroad vehicle I'll buy, and I think it'll be the perfect weekend vehicle for my wife and I, as we spend...
I'm still keeping my options open on the 4Runner, but A) I can't wait any longer for the new one, and B) I've always wanted a Land Cruiser, and we haven't had them in Canada for almost 3 decades!
"We've got 5 point harnesses for our safety." On a flat dirt road.
I have zero interest in that truck. Where I live, EV's are not a practical solution unless you're strictly an urbanite with a heated garage (coincidentally the target market for this truck), plus I'd never buy an...
I have Falken Wildpeak AT3W's on my Tundra, and really like them. The Tundra has been notorious for chewing through tires in my experience. I've had Toyos, Coopers, and a few others, and I'm pretty happy with the Falkens overall, aside from the fact they throw the odd pebble. Best allround...
So if that's the case, my (layman's) assumption is that any changes to the vehicle's suspension would mean negating the benefits of the AVS. Not sure if that's a good thing or not, as I'm no expert at all in this field (I had to Google "adaptive variable suspension" π ).
Wondering if anyone has info on the suspension in the new LC. With the somewhat limited ground clearance, Iβm wondering what it currently has, and whether a mod/replacement will be feasible/a good idea. Iβve tried Google with no luck.
EDIT: I've read that it will come with twin tube front...
Yep, I figure the mid level LC trim to go close to $70k, then add the Premium Package with real leather and JBL for another $2500 - $3000. That's my guess at this point. Would LOVE the GX, but it's against my principals to buy a vehicle for almost $100k.
