I'm not a huge fan of the raised floor, but I AM a huge fan of the fact it'll get almost double the mileage of my Tundra. Life is about compromises, and I think this one's likely to be worth it.
My thoughts exactly. Was leaning heavily towards Meteor Shower for this reason, but wife's not a fan, so I've ordered a black one, but told my dealer I will probably have to see both before making a final decision.
I was waiting for the new 4Runner as well, but when it was pushed out a year I started considering the Tacoma. Now that the LC's been released, I'm 99% going that route (have paid a deposit subject to pricing, etc.) because I need a vehicle soon. That said if the 4Runner is released prior to...
And my '07 Tundra. By far the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned, which includes several other Toyota trucks/SUV's, and a few Hondas mixed in there. I won't mention how the Ford experiments went.
I am mostly curious about the colour choices. Yours says Meteor Shower, mine didn't. Although the Toyota Canada Press Release said Meteor Shower was an option.
In Canada, if you look at the Tundra Crewmax SR5 at CAD $64k (similarly equipped and likely priced to '58 LC), the additional cost to go to a Limited (which will be similarly equipped to the LC with trim with Premium pkg), the additional cost is about $9k (just over $73k). We'll see...

Yes to all of this. I'm actually in the reno business so can concur with first hand knowledge. And I also agree with Toyota's strategy, and their statement that hybrid is more environmentally friendly (not to mention humanitarian) than full-on EV in many parts of the world. Seems GM is also...
I'm a former ski racer and ski racing Dad (hence my forum handle) so have seen skis transported every way you can imagine. I've seen many families over the years lean the ski tips up on the back of the centre seat (middle seat) when 4 people on board. Pretty sure there are tie-downs in the...
It's largely a lifestyle thing too. I live in a neighbourhood built in the 60's of single family homes where almost everyone has a double detached garage. However, the front street has at least one vehicle parked out front of each home because most people's garages are full of other things so...
Exactly. As long as they advertise the vehicle at a specific price, then all's fair. But they cannot add that to the price if it's not advertised that way.
You can't apply statistics for the US to Canada in any meaningful way - especially with regards to EV viability. The US has 10 times our population and slightly less area, plus there's a HUGE climatic difference.
Interesting. I suspect the dealers here are probably all competing for allocations, so if they can get verbal confirmations it helps them move up the list. My "order" literally consisted of me saying "yep" via email when he confirmed I'd like them to order me a black LC trim with premium pkg...
I ordered black Land Cruiser trim with premium pkg. and black leather. I suspect my "order" is the same. He said they're just wanting to get their orders into Toyota, then buyers will commit when they get pricing.
Gotta say I'm probably leaning towards black now. Wife doesn't love the Underground, nor do i really, and she really doesn't like the Brown Sugar (like the Corolla below), and she already has a white Audi wagon with black fenders, so we don't want that combo again. So it could be back to...
