    Fuel tank efficiency

Agreed. Just stop to get gas, take a leak, stretch your legs, and get a cold beverage. I still wish the LC had a larger fuel tank just for weekly convenience of not needing to fill as often, but there will be solutions for that going forward.

    Fuel tank efficiency

Running a fuel tank nearly dry on a regular basis is a great way to cause a premature fuel pump failure. Just because your other vehicles will register empty when truly empty doesn’t mean it’s advisable to run them that low. Toyota is a very conservative company by nature. They have built a...

    Visor Mirror Light Flicker

Stop putting your makeup on while driving. Problem solved.

    Fuel tank efficiency

There is no separate fuel tank. Just a gauge programmed to show “empty” with 3 or so gallons remaining.

    Fuel tank efficiency

Yes. Toyota does this on pretty much everything to give a reserve and keep the fuel pump submerged for longevity since the fuel pump is cooled by the fuel around it.

First Edition impressions after first 1000 miles.

Well that is a pretty pricey Jerry can. No photos on the page I found.

First Edition impressions after first 1000 miles.

Just needs a larger fuel tank. I have been cross referencing Lexus GX550 part numbers for filler necks etc to see if they’re the same as the Land Cruiser. Maybe all guy needs is the GX550 fuel tank itself? Everything else might just fit right in. Part numbers are all similar if only a few...

    Tire Upgrade ?

I will be interested to see more reviews of that tire. It might end up being a good Jack of all trades master of none general purpose tire.

    Tire Upgrade ?

Not sure if someone already posted it but Bridgestone has a new Dueler A/T Ascent coming to market that is 3PMSF rated and looks like a balance more toward an on road biased AT. https://www.bridgestonetire.com/tire/dueler-at-ascent/265-70R18/

Comparison of lighting quality between square v. round headlights?

On some headlights the housing can be adjusted or the default “level” adjusted and still work with auto level. It doesn’t take very many degrees of elevation or depression to significantly change the throw of the low and high beams.

2024 Land Cruiser or 2019-2023 Cayenne

If maintenance costs on the Cayenne are a concern you can’t afford it. Hate to be blunt, but there it is. Any luxury brand German made vehicle requires a bank account with a minimum of $5,000 at all times once out of warranty to cover things that will inevitably break. Otherwise you’ll end up...

    Lemon already?

Just my guess. Start with the simplest explanation first. Why is it noisy on a cold start? Because DI injectors are freakin’ noisy and this engine doesn’t have a cover on it. Plus the engine will run pig rich to warm up the catalytic converter. The colder it is outside the more racket it’s...

Oil and Filter Change, easy peasy.

That’s actually not as bad as I thought it would be.

OEM is probably the way to go though. How proud are we talking about here?

    Lemon already?

Perhaps because the D4S system will transition to port injection at idle once warmed up to prevent low engine load carbon build up, and take advantage of certain engine load conditions where port injection is more efficient than direct injection.

Oil and Filter Change, easy peasy.

How difficult is it to get TPMS sensors programmed to the vehicle? For example I go buy a set of steelies and slap a set of studded snow tires on or dedicated off road tires, and add TPMS sensors to them. Is it possible to have the truck pick those up instead of the originals when they’re in...

    The hybrid that can't...

If I had to take a scientific wild ass guess the noise while cold has something to do with emissions systems, or the hybrid system. Maybe some sort of wastegate setting to bypass the turbine and get hot exhaust to the catalyst to warm it up faster etc. If they all make a similar noise it’s...

    Dead Battery

I hate wet cell batteries. Sorry but aside from being cheap I see no valid reason to equip a vehicle with one. They out gas, leak, dry up, and generally suck. Particularly on an off road vehicle that will get bounced around or operated at weird angles as part of the reason a customer might buy...

    Dead Battery

If it makes you feel any better the last AGM I bought 12 years ago for the Tundra was about $230 for a single battery. Still going strong believe it or not.

    Dead Battery

I hope the compartment the battery lives in has a large enough access panel to get it out and back in easily. Our 2015 SS required me to take the trim apart in the trunk to change it. Many bad words were said.

    Dead Battery

Do you happen to know the group size of the 12v battery? I have never liked Toyota stock batteries and invariably replace them with an AGM unit, usually the biggest bastard I can cram on the battery tray or compartment. Since the 12v battery still handles starting duties in extreme cold...

Yeah…… first oil change never goes smoothly for me either. Always end up with dirty used oil on my garage floor somehow. LOL. Hopefully your shiny new Fumoto valve will solve this problem going forward.

Oil and Filter Change, easy peasy.

How many to a case? I usually try to have 3-4 oil filters on hand, but more is usually better. I will be buying a Land Cruiser for the wife and I if possible this fall or early winter, and my mom will be getting a Grand Highlander around the same time. I’ll have two T24A-FTS’s to maintain.

    Sold After 38 Days!!??

Correct. The only two items that Toyota should have 1000% put on the 1958 are the sway bar disconnect and the larger screen. At least as options, because even the buyers who will mod it will still find those two things useful.

    Sold After 38 Days!!??

While you are right about mindsets and brand consciousness in your area of operations, fortunately that doesn’t apply everywhere because people in that mindset are miserable turds to be around in my experience. Sold After 38 Days!!??

The guy bought the wrong trim to meet his wants. He was also unwilling to delve into the index of his owners manuals to discover how to use, adjust, turn off, or activate various features he found troublesome. The LC 1958 trim was never going to be a good fit for him.

    17 inch Genuine Toyota Steelies

If you’re worried about corrosion steelies might not be a good answer for you. Eventually they’ll rust in any area that the paint gets scratched or nicked.
