I can begin to wrap my head around high prices for Hawaii, because all oil is shipped in to the islands for refinement. But in the great state of WA our prices are exorbitantly high thanks to our governorās pet carbon tax.
Not that Iāve had to chain up more than a small handful of times in my 45 years of driving, but no factory vehicle should be restricted from having chains installed when absolutely needed.
That said, it wonāt impact my decision to get a LC250. If chains are required I probably shouldnāt be on...
Not saying we havenāt been horrible stewards of the environment, but weāre being misled to think that EVs are the great savior to petrol. Aside from the limited practicality of an EV, I have a big problem with the extraction of the materials needed to make the batteries. Now, once a truly viable...
Yeah, theyāre not there or anywhere close yet, and Iām not convinced EV is the solution to the woes we are being told exist. I think much of the automotive industry agrees or is starting to question the matter.
I am retired so donāt put all that many miles on a vehicle, either. I do take extended road trips a couple of times a year, but fortunately those are to Idaho and Montana, where fuel prices are more reasonable. Iāll by ācheapā premium in those states š
Living in the Socialist Republic of Washington state we enjoy some of the highest fuel prices in the country (behind CA and HI). Having to purchase premium (92 octane here) means ~$5.30/gallon (currently). Thatās not a deal breaker for me in considering a LC250, but still, itās not insignificant...
As of now the poll results (50-60) align with my assessment of most LC buyersā ages (Iām 61 but identify as 60, so Iām in the most popular age group).
I think younger folks will flock toward the new 4Runner.
Iāll do something different than the OEM wheels and tires but not yet sure what exactly. Definitely 18ā rims and for sure an AT tire (either Falken Wildpeak or Cooper AT3 XLT).
I do like the GX550 Overtrail wheels a lot and if they accepted the Toyota center cap that would be a consideration...
I love the Heritage Blue/Grayscape top even more now after seeing these videos, than before. Swap out the 20ā wheels for 18ās, slap on some AT tires and Bobās your uncle. š¤¤
I hope youāre right. Iām also hoping that, with the announcement of the new 4Runner, a whole lot of people who were previously interested in the LC will step aside and let those of us who want the LC have at it sooner.
Another local dealer, Michaelās Toyota of Bellevue (WA) has 9 LCās on their website with notations that theyāre either āIn Transitā or āIn Productionā
6 FEās and 3 Land Cruiser trims, all posted with no markups at TSRP.
This is refreshing to see. They donāt have anything inbound or in...
Iāve never bought a new Toyota so I have no familiarity with that dealer. But I tās big red flag for me as far as potentially doing any business with them in the future.
I contacted a local dealer a month ago and asked to be put on their wait-list. They gave me no idea as to how many were already on the list but I assumed I was way down. I preferenced a mid-level Land Cruiser in Heritage Blue with gray top, and left it at that. I assumed I wouldnāt hear from...
Thatās pretty cool to have a dealer do thisāespecially the partial credit aspect. There are going to be a lot of LC take-offs that will be worth exactly $0 on the resale market.
Congrats in advance! Iām curious as to your plans for the new LC:
Are you going to treat it like an ordinary vehicle and drive it until it wears out, or you trade it for something new in a few years?
Or
Are you going to tuck it away in a climate-controlled garage and in 30 years your kids...
Does the GX550 require premium gas or just recommend it? As Iāve come to understand it thereās a big difference. My wife was recently shopping for a new car and this became a determining factor. Certain auto manufacturers (Audi as an example) make it clear that using less than 91 octane can be...
I may be wrong but the GXās additional length must come from the elongated front end cap because they share the same wheelbase. The comparison photo isnāt exactly to scale but you can really see that thereās definitely a much more bulbous nose on the GX.
Yep, opinions are subjective. At first didnāt care for the entire front end on the LC. Then I warmed to it and I liked the round headlights. Now I prefer the rectangular headlights. But one thing that has not changed is my strong dislike of the Lexus front end. Hard no for me.
