Agree. Toyota has created a stupid mess here. Letās put both Tacoma and LC powertrains on a dyno. Either the marketing people are wrong or the engineers are wrong. As an engineer Iāve got my biasā¦.if LC produces more HP/torque on premium then letās publish thatā¦.if Tacoma on regular produces...
Whatās the āup to $999ā dealer fee for? It be nice to know the dealer invoice price although thereās probably little or no negotiation in the first year or 2 of this vehicle price anyways.
Yup, read the same reviews awhile back. Sounds like one will have to set their expectations a bit lower if you are gonna keep these. Strange that Michelin apparently missed the boat on these as many of their other LTX tires that I have had were very good and excellent reviews. (mostly touring...
I am a project engineer/manager but also run and own my family farm business part time. Between hauling my hockey gear to the rink in winter time and my golf gear in the summer Iāll also use it to haul my SxS around and help with towing/moving stuff to and from the farm. Have a few acres of my...
To each their own, but that is one of the first things I toss in the garbage bin on all my previous SUVs. So I'm hoping its not priced into the base vehicle but available as an option would be good.

MotorTrend estimates 6.0s. Car&Driver estimated 6.6s. Maybe in-between the two. They will have more on-road tests soon.
So itās what TRD Jon said after the ā91 recommendedā comment, he saidā¦.ābut not requiredā¦.ā āDo what u want with that info but bro Iām not putting premium gas in any Toyota or my LCā¦ā His opinion only, but this is a few auto journalists now that have said this and just shrugged it off. I get...
Iād have to be honest and say initially it was 50-50 for me but over the last month or so Iāve noticed so many dang Broncos on the road!! ā¦.rectangular it is.
The 4Runner has been no slouch in reliability over the years and 5th gen with the 4.0l V6 considered rock solid. Also manufactured in the Tahara plant. I would expect reliability between the 4R and LC to be very similar. They share the same frame and virtually the same performance specs so one...
Nice to see LC as a truly global platform. The List prices in JPY when converted to USD is quite attractive. Different powertrain of course but still interesting.
A couple notes. Front bumper has a licence plate holder. Why couldnāt NA versions have this. Also the rear hitch cover & bump...
Quite annoying and disappointing that certain dimensional specs are still unknown (cargo area) or simply still quoting questionable numbers (rear/front legroom, etc). Pretty much all were a rehash of already known common Toyota talking points and subjective opinions. š„±š„±
Yeah there's some good info in the videos, but then alot of stuff we already knew and they all appear "rushed" and done in a hurry...likely Toyotas fault though. Hopefully more "real facts" to come in the future as the LC hits the road and longer term reviews are done.
Similar to what was...
Near the end of the TRD Jon and Kirk's video, they mention that the GX will be offering (likely) the same hybrid powertrain soon as the LC (next year??). I would think that would certainly squeeze sales of LC in North America, with 4Runner as the volume seller and GX as the premium seller...
From Motor trend road test
Unsurprisingly, a tall, boxy SUV with all-terrain tires isnāt the quietest inside. Thereās always a thrum from the rubber as youāre driving, and at freeway speeds itās joined by wind noise from the blocky door mirrors and upright windshield. On a calm day, the...
0-60 is a general metric for power and acceleration. Guess could add quarter mile time too. Important metrics to use for comparisons. You forgot the word āsportā in SUV. Iāll be using the LC for more than hauling groceries back and forth from Walmart. And it better have some more grunt and...
With the upcoming embargo ending and reveal of road tests/review for LC what top questions do you want answered? My top would be:
1. what is the 0-60 time?
2. how does it drive and handle on-road (quiet/refined/driver position...??)
3. dimensions/real specs of cargo area with seats up/seats...
TPMS sensors seem to be a common omission in Hondas/Toyotas...but who knows until we see them?
I dont see the Build&price up yet on Toyota.ca for LC. What are you basing this off of?
Wow. At this rate we might see 2025 4Runners before LCs in Canada. Should find out more for the reviews next week unless this a āunique to Canadaā issue.
I think we have a similar taste and age as well. Guess we are part of that āsafe and confidentā crowd according to the Toyota marketing folkā¦.Whatever that means. I hope to be having some āfunā with this LC though too. :D
The ālighter more agileā comment is a bit of a head scratcher to me, given the specs weāve been told. Certainly wouldnāt seem to apply to the 4R top trims with hybrid systemā¦
Not all 4Rs will get Old Man Emu or Fox suspensionā¦just a couple trims.
Same for full time 4wd with centre/rear lock. I believe the Limited and Platinum trims of 4R will get these features. TBC
Iāve been thinking the exact same thing the last couple daysā¦thanks for starting this thread.
Both models had the same chief engineer. would be nice to interview that guy and ask some technical questions about differences between LC and 4R. Hereās hope that one of these YouTube auto journalists will execute on this. It be nice to not have to sift through hours of video going through...
Iāll go out on a limb and say since the new 4R is basically the new Tacoma with a hardtop/cap on back that it will require regular fuel like the Taco.. FWIW.
Can someone explain the āembargoā thing or send a link? ā¦.its been mentioned on here several times yet I do a search and nothing really comes upā¦.thanks.
Iām keeping my LC deposit too as I agree with you. Some things are ok on 4R but I like LC for other things. I also want to see real specs for both vehicles and definitely pricing as I would assume there will be some overlap with higher end 4R trims and lower trims of LC. Still good to have a...
